Anyway to get these formalities done quicker if I marry in China? I have I-129F and G-325A forms ready to take with me next week to Beijing.

However, I am wondering what I can do to marry while in China, what do I need to show to get a marriage certificate? Or what does she need to get a marriage certificate?

I am just an ABC (American Born Chinese) -seeking- CBC (China born Chinese)

Chris H,

Is a little more complicated to marry over in China but not much.

You and she will need to have a certificate showing your status as being un-married, She will get the Notarial Un-Married Certifiate at the local Notarial office. You can get this done for your self at the embassy in Beijing.

I would highly recommend that you join and ask China specific immigration questions at Candle for Love. http://www.candleforlove.com/

Also prepare and bring I-130 with you, you will need to file I-130 if you plan to do K-3 visa.

really? I thought I-129f was for the "K" visas and I-130 was IR1/CR1 (DCF)

YMMV

For K-3 you first file I-130 just like you are doing IR1/CR-1, then after you get the NOA1 from the I-130 you then file the I-129F with a copy of I-130 NOA1, this then starts the K-3 process.

Fwaguy: I am surprised that you did not know that. :o

We are not all experts like you. I have read all that stuff but I purposely have stayed away participating in much discussion on the procedural front for that very reason in that I am not completly in tune with K-3.

K-3 was never a considered option for me. I opened very little file space in my brain other than to understand nothing more than just the basic premise of the process. Ask me K-1 or DCF (particularly as it relates to Ukraine), I think I have it.

I have felt my fair share of 2 x 4 swats from Yodrak as well....

YMMV

One other thing bring extra G-325A prepared for her to be sent in with the I-130.
