Hello All,

i am a permanant citizen and i have a greencard, but currently i am in my home county(India) since last 5 years after getting the Greencard due to business reasons, all i do is go every 1.5 to 2 years, apply for a reentry permit and come back, i recently got married and now want my wife to come with me while i visit the US, what is the best and quickest way for her to come with me? what visa options do i have? i have no problems in getting a return ticket as i myself will be returning with her.

Thank You to all who post in.

Your wife can file for a visitors visa. If you try to get a green card for her you will have to prove your residency in the US and that will cause them to look at your pattern of green card abuse and take your green card away, Have you filed taxes for the years you have been away ( you must file taxes always as an LPR )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

If she wants to come in as a tourist she needs to apply for a tourist visa and show she has strong ties with India to convince the IO she will return home after her allowed stay in the US.

The return ticket is a requirement but it will not help much. The IO will want to see evidence she needs to return home and if she can present evidence that you must return to India as well that might help her cause.

Good luck!

You have for all intents and purposes been living outside the US for the last 5 years, you stand a chance of having your greencard revoked for abusing your resident status. Your wife can apply for a visitor visa, but the chances of getting one from India are about zero being married to a resident(that is if you still are a resident). Before doing anything you need to check on the status of your own greencard. Good luck!
