A wire transfer from your bank to her bank should do the trick. Expect to pay a fee at your bank, the correspondent bank (middle man) and the bank of your fiancee! You will likely have to go to your bank in person as most no longer will accept wire transfer orders over the phone. You will also need the full name and address of your fiancee, her bank account number, her bank's routing (or ABA) number and SWIFT code. This will take a few days to get to her - international wires tend to take at minimum 3 business days for processing - so if you are looking to get something to her quickly, Western Union is the way to go!

Is there any reason that western union won't work the best? Sometimes there are harder circumstances where they cannot get it that way. A bank transfer is a lot more-unfortuneately

Actually the best way is to open an account for her here and give her access to an ATM card.

She doesn't happen to bank with PNB does she? If so you can send money to her account online.

http://www.pnbrci.com/

It takes 3 or 4 days and costs $10. They also have an option to send the money to the recipient in person.

I use remithome.com

https://www.remithome.com/

It works well when there is an account established in the Philippines to transfer the funds to. You link an account, I use a dedicated saving account and then transfer the funds all from the internet. It costs a $10.00 flat fee all the way up to the max, currently $1000.00 and the exchange rate is decent. Depending on the destination bank, takes between 2-5 business days to become available.

Biometrics completed Nov 5 2004

EAD Approval Dec 29 2004

AOS appointment letter received Feb 3 2005

AOS interview scheduled for March 9 2005

AOS interview mostly fine, just need I-693 supplement filled out by civil surgeon

Spend another $40 for I-693 form, sent to local USCIS office registered mail, arrived March 11 2005

AOS finally approved March 25th 2005

Green card arrives about 10 days later

!!Green card has incorrect middle name!! Thanks USCIS

Travel back to Denver, turn in card and I-90 to correct their mistake.

Application accepted, asked for I-551 stamp, they told me "We don't do stamps anymore"

NOA1 for I-90 received from NSC April 18 2005, fee waived

NSC appears to have stoped processing I-90's

Marilyn needs to travel back to the RP, call Senators office for help with green card or I-551 stamp

Travel back to Denver July 1, 2005 and received I-551 stamp in the passport.

hi,

after 27 receipts of western union, we decided to use xoom..a friend of mine has recommended it..it's 24 hours if u use EXPRESS sending and takes 2-5 days for economy :) the charge is half of western union.the charge varies depending on the amount sent... it could be picked up by receiver or direct to her account..mine is to my account and just use atm to check or withdraw. u will have a notice via ur email if u have it and u can track the process ...

visit www.xoom.com

why not open an ATM account under her name and you could just wire transfer your money anytime. It is like you depositing some amount of money in her account.

Moneygram. I used to us WU but it was way too expensive. The economy transfer takes a few days but only 10 bucks.

I also just gave my Wife-2-B an ATM card to my bank account. Never have to use WU or anything else...works great!

I opened up a savings account linked to my main account at my credit union and requested an ATM card. When I visited Claudeth I gave her the card. It sure made things a lot easier. Her parents now have the card. The BPI bank charges us 50 cents to use the ATM and my credit union charges a dollar to use an ATM outside their network. This is tons cheaper than Western Union and the conversion rate is also much better.

Western Union is expensive to transfer money and then also makes money on the conversion rate. I used them a few times and they charged me about 30 bucks to send 300 and then gave a conversion rate of about a peso per dollar less than the going rate. See my other post, that has worked out the best for me.

I once heard that if you both have paypal accounts you can send money that way real cheap but I am not sure exactly how it works. It may be worth looking into.
