Yes it is. Every case gets administrative processing after the interview. AP means a lot of things but usually it means the normal handling and printing of the visa. Give it another week or so. You should be fine.

Hi everybody ,

I am writing because I feel really frustrated about my B1/B2 visa case situation. Here is what happened to me : I had my interview on Thursday ,December 4th ,2014 ,and was given a paper saying that MY VISA APPLICATION IS APPROVED ,and was told by the officer that my visa would be ready in 7 days if didnot get any call from them(requesting extra info). To date , I havenot got any call or mail fromt he embassy ,regarding extra information requested, from the embassy.

The funny thing is that I got an email from the consular section today that my passport is ready for pick up . I went to the post office and got a passport with NO visa on it. All I had in hand was my DS160 form and an emptry passport :( I keep checking my status and it says "Administrative Processing "

I am an Iranian national and had my interview at the embassy of the US in Ankara,Turkey.

I would really appreciate it if anybody with the same experience could walk me through all this.

Yours
