Hi there,

I had my interview on Dec 3, and was issued with the "congratulations your visa application has been approved" however it is now been 3 weeks and my CEAC status has not updated from "READY".

I have submitted all the required documents and paid my fee so just over a week ago I emailed the consulate enquiring and they responded with the below. Has anyone had something similar and can advise what is happening? Is this a normal process or could this be due to the Christmas/NY period?

Thanks!

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

We apologize for the delay in the processing of your application.

Your case is being reviewed by the consular officer for their adjudication. If further documents are required, our office will be in contact with you.

Generally, it will take 5 business days to print your visa and prepare your document package after the consular officer has reviewed and adjudicated a case.

The visa package will be posted back in the me

Thank you

'Your case is being reviewed by the consular officer for their adjudication' - That line is interesting considering you were given the congratulations document. I'm not sure if it means anything or if it's the standard spiel they give you. Would there be any reason why they might go back over your package or have anything to question?

I had my interview on Friday 20th and was successful. I then received an e-mail today with a subject of 'Your issued K1 visa package is being sent to you today 23-DEC-2013'. I'm actually surprised it's moving so fast as I was told that it would take about 2 weeks to get it. I checked my tracking number tonight and nothing has been updated yet so I'm guessing it hasn't even been picked up. I'll wait and see when it arrives :)

No reason that I can think of, I provided everything, paid my fee and I have no strikes to say against me, ie crim history or anything like that.

So I am just confused as you also put above, if I have been approved why are they still reviewing the case. All I could think of is because of the Christmas holiday shutdown, but if yours was actioned I am guessing that is no longer the case :(

What is really bugging me is the fact my status with CEAC still shows ready. I understand if they had put mine through AP that the status would be updated to reflect that.

I am very happy for you however Jim that your status has been updated :D
