You're right, though there are sometimes weird social discrepancies in who gets fired and shunned. The entertainment business is fundamentally different from police and teachers, in the social effects/costs of either group spewing stuff like this and societal

tolerance is fundamentally different because their roles are so different. I don't know if the two can really be compared?

It's weird though sometimes, the way some people in entertainment get all kinds of passes that other people in entertainment don't.

Jobs in entertainment are pretty much all at will employment. Even the union gigs. Movies are different from TV though. I'm not sure exactly why. A great example is Alec Baldwin. He's been spewing homophobic ####### for years. He still makes movies. But his most recent twitter utterance lost him his TV show. Both he and Phil Robertson bit the hand that fed them, and both were punished.

Which is of course shameful. However, I wasn't explicit enough, I did mean on US soil as apposed to out in the big wide world.

I think people assume I'm my beneficiary. For the record in person I'm a fairly mild-mannered American woman of Russian heritage. It's the internets that bring out my inner angry. As for my fiance, he can pass for anything - Indian, Latino, African, Pacific Islander. He does impressions almost as convincingly as Russell Peters. He doesn't care much for politics, he's more interested in programming and Xbox.

I'm sorry I must have missed it.. Why are we caring about Sheens opinion on this? If he wants to write an op-ed piece on the difference between 1000/hour hookers versus 5000/hr hookers I'm all in.
