What is 'anti gay'? The reality is some people are gay, it's not a choice, it's how they are born. They grow up attracted to people of the same sex, not the opposite sex.

See this is why you are wrong so often.... you simply feed off talking points.

How people arrive at being homosexual is complicated, certainly not something they are all born with.

There is no conclusive evidence that people are genetically born gay.

If you think about it for half a second you would realize, if it were true, both twins would be gay when one of them is.

Think for your self and give the "marketing" tactics a break.

PLease, my friend, these silly loaded questions work on H.S. students, not adults.

When does a alcoholic decide to become one?

When does a pedophile decide to become one?

When does a Serial killer or rapist decide to be one?

I corrected you in that gays are not patently born that way.

Even so, people are born with cleft pallets, spinal developmental problems as well as mental problems.

Do we pretend that merely being born in a condition grants it the label of "normal" or "healthy."

Step up your game.

If you think this is histories first run at Homosexuality being normalized you have a lot to learn.

I am certainly not a Conservative and I can't defend what Phil Robertson said, nor do I agree with his comments, but I think there is an element of intolerance in the action taken by A & E.

It is sad that he feels the bigotry he expressed, and even sad that there are any others of like mind. But he expressed his own opinion and it was hardly earth shattering or surprising that he has a bigoted opinion of gays.

I agree with you, but fact remains that networks need to sell air time in order to survive. I recall years ago when Ellen DeGeneres had a hit comedy show cancelled a few episodes after she came out to her public. It was a commercial decision then, it is commercial decision now. In 2013, in the USA there are several states that have legislation that would allow an employer to fire an employee based on the later's sexual orientation. Yes, in America, in 2013 you can be fired for being gay. Appaling, but true. Is it not just poetic justice that in this case Phil was fired for being ignorant? He is entitled to his opinion as are we entitled an opinoin of him. People get fired everyday. He will be forgotten as soon as the next reality TVshow airs in the spring, if not sooner.

Actually I agree with you on this. However, I don't agree with arriving at value judgements of homosexuals.

Can someone tell me how Mr. Robertson's 1st amendment rights have been restricted?

He is a public figure who said something in a media interview that was contrary to his employers ethical code. In short he damaged the brand.

His freedom of speech hasn't been injured in any way. He hasn't been arrested, he hasn't been imprisoned, he can continue to say what ever he wants.

Go to work this morning and freely call your boss a flaming a$$hole. Speak freely it's your right.

The thing is I have always thought of myself as politically conservative.

What I'm not is a homophobic, bible-thumper with no verbal filter.

Maybe I'm not as conservative as i thought.

Maybe I didn't choose to be moderate, maybe I was born this way.
