I'm not ooverly religious, but this poem states things much better than I can with words. Very saddened with your loss, hope your coping well.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I'm so sorry to hear that, Melissa. I know this has to be a tough day for you. I'll say a prayer for your little buddy and for you and your family. I hope he 's up there, chasing squirrels and getting lots of heavenly attention.

I just got an e-mail from Mom. The vet looked down in his throat and there was cancer everywhere. He said we made the right choice. I really just wish I could have been there so Willie wouldn't have to die with just my Dad. We're having him cremated and they'll make a plaque for the urn. I don't even know how I'm going to go to my mom and dad's house anymore, knowing he's not going to be there....

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

Mel, just wanted to let you know that I once had to put my beloved Prince down about 8 years ago. He was sitting on my lap when the Dr did it, and I hope it's at least a little comforting to know that it's very fast and peaceful & your beloved Sir William is out of pain and is at peace.

You will see each other again.

I played the song from Dream Theater while looking at photos of Fluffy and cried. I'm so sorry you lost him. It's the worst feeling in the world to lose your beloved angel and near the holidays.

"I'll carry on as best that I can/ It's ok let it go time to leave here/ Let him come here take you home"
