Tuesday December 17, I sent a email (SEE BELOW) to the Cairo Embassy for any information about my husband AP status. I basically begged for any information they can share with me and this was the response... We will be contact you shortly about your husband case. I was just happy to see a response that was not their old generic email but it still left questions unanswered.

Today DHL delivered my husband passport to his home with a letter stating that he needed to renew his medical, police record and passport. After renewal send back to Embassy.

Alhamdulillah. I have waited for so long. My hubby was in Hurghada when he received the call from the Embassy so he is traveling right now to his home so he can renew his documents.

With Allah blessings this part of our journey will finally end.

It is nice to make some forward progress after months of standing still. My hubby got his passport back today which was good because I needed a valid date to complete the online DS-260.

One year ago I completed paper form DS-230 I and II so when I started the DS-260 it was similar in a way but it asked for a lot more detail. If you have not completed this form make sure you have available detailed information of current/previous employment and education history from high school to current.

Total time start to finish 50 minutes.....have to check every detail because I did not want it to be viewed as incomplete due to the lack of information.

As of 2/3/2014 there is no word from the Embassy. I am at a lost. Why would they send through DHL his passport and a letter stating he needs to renew his passport and medical. If he is planning to travel before February 1 2014, he needs to do half medical exam. If he planning on traveling after February 1, 2014 do the full medical again.

I emailed the embassy and got the same generic reply.

Is there any advise out there??

Congrats on finally hearing something, that is such a relief after long silence...

I don't understand your situation exactly but my fiance was recently told (in writing) he had to redo his TB test, and when he went to the doctor in Alex she refused to redo only the TB and made him redo all of it. It was annoying but I guess its better to be through than be told later by the embassy that we missed something... maybe you can look at it as a positive and just redo the whole thing regardless of what they ask for just to make sure?

Yes, because your medical, I presume was one year ago, and has expired. The TB expires in 6 months, but if the beneficiary will not be making it into the US before the 1 year mark then the entire medial process needs to be renewed. I know this because we were just approved for our visa and only given 2 months to get into the US before our visa expired. Our visa expires on the one year mark of his full medical even though we renewed the TB in December.
