Hi everyone, was trying to look at the processing times, and I will continue to do so, but I was wondering if it is normal for i-130(cr1) to be taking 2 months and 21 days after NOA 1 without further notification?

I signed up for e notifications online and am still waiting. We are going through the USCIS National Benefits Center btw.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

This is not at all unusual - absent an RFE you shouldn't expect to hear anything until your NOA-2 (absent notification of a file transfer) in 6+ months. Hopefully your wait will be shorter and not longer, but that's a good expectation to set. So, settle in for a bit of a wait and use the time to prepare for a running start when you hit the NVC phase.

Best of luck!

Yes, it's normal. I've been waiting 9 months so far for our NOA2.

Ok maybe I am confused, but we sent in the packet. Received the Form I-797 and email, which I think is NOA-1 if I'm not wrong.

We havent heard anything more in 2 months and 21 days. I keep checking online and the case status says Initial Review.

Are you saying it will be another 4 months before we hear anything and have to send in more papers? I hope not. I checked the processing times between National Benefits Center and Peru and minimum time is 5 months to Interview and Average time is 8 months.

What do you guys think?

Oh I see, so you went through the same Chicago National Benefits Center and it took 5 months for them to move it to the next phase after receiving the I-797?

Unfortunately, it may be more than 4 months. Long-story short, there is a "delay" in processing times and petitions are being transferred to other services centers to help speed up the process. Right now, based on approvals being reported in the VisaJourney community, it seems that USCIS is getting around to completing April petitions. There have been a couple of May and July petitions approved as well.

There are cases that are expedited, but those are under special circumstances.

I see. Well it is good to see another Peruvian petition!

So what is the next thing I should be looking for after the first NOA? Also, does anyone have a link to the page that shows the order of things?

Is there something in between NOA 1 and NOA 2?

Also, how long do you estimate that it will take from start to finish to bring your spouse over to the US?

Do you know about the timeline feature here on VisaJourney? You should fill it out because it will help others answer your questions as well.

Here is a link that shows petitions for the NBC:

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=4&option=3&sortby=2

In between the NOA1 and NOA2, it is possible that you can get an RFE (Request for Evidence), which means someone is working your petition and they need more information to complete it. You may also be transferred to another service center, as many are transferred to help with the delay in processing (you mentioned your petition is at the NBC).

Right now, based on what I've been "studying" here on the forum, I estimate that my entire process will be completed by March or April 2014, and I filed in July of this year.

Yes, it's been over 2 months for us. I'm expecting to wait approx. 10 months just for the I-130 to be approved. In the meantime I am saving as much of my earnings as I can before making the big move!

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

prepare for the NVC in the meantime

That is a good advise!

Actually I already have both our birth certificates, our marriage certificate and my divorce degree translated and ready.

I also already filled the NVC forms, ready to be printed and signed and I have my tax transcripts ready for the last three years

Only forms left are police and court certificates since they expire in 6 months (at least the police certificate does).

Good luck everybody
