My question is, are you going to get married in Indonesia or in the US? If you both are plan to get married in Indonesia, K-1 visa is no longer for you. Choose CR-1/IR-1 instead. K-1 visa only for couples who are planning to get married in the US. But you can still have wedding reception after got spousal visa though.

Actually married in Indonesia only for family errands, Yet, my status still engaged until i get married (with married certificate) in US. That's why we fill in K-1 visa

thank you to sent me a quote and advice. My wedding in Indonesia is just family errand to let them know that i am "taken". But my status will still engaged until we get married in US. USCIS is faster lately for processing I-129F compared from the past which was average in 3-6 months. After the approval, your case file sent to NVC for more visa processing and will forwarded to US consulate in Jakarta. The fastest approval I've ever seen on VJ was in 16 days. I hope you'll get a news very soon from USCIS. Keep us posted and you can PM me anytime if you have any questions regarding the process. Good luck!

I'm a bit confused here. If you are getting married in Indonesia, you must take the CR-1 route instead of K1 visa because K1 visa is a fiancee visa.

If I may suggest, you both can have an engagement ceremony not a wedding because there were many couples on here got denied of their visa because they are considered filing for the wrong type of visa.

You can do more research on this site. Definitely useful!

Thank you for your replied, This is what i was trying to figure out. My family want us to have wedding here with KUA and any other marriage stuff. So if we do that, then the visa got denied and need to be change to CR-1 visa? i will try to look through the internet. Thank you to remind me!this is really helpful

Thank you for updating your timeline. It will helps people for their journey on VJ. Keep in mind, married at KUA considering a legal marriage and US government recognized it. Because at KUA, you'll have buku nikah and as far as my knowledge, it is same with a marriage certificate.

And if you were presenting documents that saying you are engaged in fact that you're already married, the CO probably would thinking you do misrepresentation which is could get result at worst. Misrepresentation penalty is a ban entering to the US.
