Yay, #######-shaming!

Also, where do you see in Europe that countries are actually reining in abortion rights for women? Not some right-wing parliamentarian raising the issue, but actual legislation that has been tabled and looks likely to be passed?

Nothing wrong with a little ####### shaming once in a while, it helps guide the youth.

To be honest, this situation in Spain was ahead on my time table, but I have said it before and I will repeat it, not only will abortions be left to their proper role, I predict even birth control pills will be restricted.

For some of you people who are lacking in the ability to project societal evolution, let me help draw a picture.

All across Europe, you have the normal family situation where 4 Grand parents are all sharing one grand child.

Think about the math of that and imagine what that means for the future of a country or it's people.

Mass immigration was an answer for leaders 2 decades ago but that ill conceived plan is on the wane and so what is left?

Europe just needs a clarion wakeup call, the first country which is toppled will provide that.

Thank you for re-affirming that you know absolutely nothing about the old continent. Nothing.

Yup. Nor could he actually back up his claim that there is legislative creep across Europe for abortion restrictions.

Where does Danno get his ideas from? Europeans are not worried about falling populations in that way. it is an aging population right now, but there are still plenty of people, and not enough resources to go around those people. Europe will pioneer how to run an economy on a falling birth rate sooner or later, not artificially stimulate population growth to satisfy some nutty American's vision of economics. It's good for a laugh but that's about it.

Not making any sense is what Danno does best. In fact, it's the only thing he does well at all.

You're right, of course, that abortion is not the reason for low birth rates in Europe. Maybe Danno can figure out at some point what actually drives low birth rates. No, I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Mr Big Dog, after your belly flop with supporting Obama-care so hard one would think you would be a bit more humble around here.

By the way.... what did you do with the $2500.00 your family saved in Health care this year?

Me, I am still holding out on that promise to be realized.

What belly flop? The ACA is still around and looks to be here to stay. It's inconsequential for me at this point since nothing changed for me. That's been clear from the start to anyone that paid a little attention. Nothing changing, by the way, is true for the vast majority of Americans. Again, anyone that paid a little attention knew that for years. You didn't, of course, since you deal in nut baggery.

By the way.... what did you do with the $2500.00 your family saved in Health care this year?

I haven't saved $2,500 on health care. Where did you get that crazy idea? It is true that my premiums have risen at the lowest pace for as long as I can remember (less than 3%) but that may or may not be the result of Obamacare and it doesn't amount to $2,500. I was not expecting any such savings either.

Were you expecting $2,500? Are you that naive?

Obama promised the savings..... I took him at his word (cringe).

As for you and the ACA, I predicted you and others would morph from Obama-care fans to jumping that sinking ship and start touting "single payer" (The next mirage). This is exactly what Bi-gov types do when their schemes fail.... they become barnacles on the next even bigger Gov't program as the answer.

No you are absolutely right. There is no movement in place at this time, I admit I am basing this "speculation" on what I see as inevitable trends and what they might very well produce.

I don't follow current events and then jump out in front and make predictions, if you want to make money.... this is how you play the market and life.

I'm not interested in finding agreement what I hope is that when it happens you will think back to Danno ...and smile.

Wrong, Danno. Completely wrong. I've stated more than once and as clear as can be that I think the ACA did not go far enough. That it relied far too heavily on the failed private insurance system that has made the US healthcare system the most ridiculous and pathetic clusterfcuk to be found anywhere in the world. That said, the ACA is still a good step forward and certainly better than the system that willingly left tens of thousands of Americans for dead each and every year. Those days are finally over.

The only time I find pro-lifers opinions even remotely passable is if they support government spending to care for those babies born into poverty. At least they are less hypocritical. You clearly only care about the fetus. Once it's born it's a welfare momma or daddy. Dawgummit lazy poor people derp derp derp etc and so forth.

It's not your business.

"That" is exactly what Slave holders said at one time.... and firmly believed.

The right to life, Liberty, blah blah blah, did not extend to slaves.

They probably also said something like "How does my owning slaves, effect your family?"

Look the fact and truth is, these are lives separate lives growing inside the womb... complete with their own DNA.

That you can not afford them any rights or protects or even consideration, is truly reminiscent of another era when that thought was so prevalent.

Stopping human life from being created is one thing.....destroying it after is already is, well, thats a complete different thing.

It is not bigotry to be certain we are right; but it is bigotry to be unable to imagine how we might possibly have gone wrong. G. K. Chesterton

I would say you need to get an original argument, one based on fact more than thoughtless emotion because "The church" was the sole institution to care for the poor at every stage in life, even in foreign countries abroad. Have you any idea of the number of private church supported Orphanages around the country and world, the numbers are unblievable, I know because I looked it up once and posted the names of them here in an earlier such convo. (It was a LOOONG list)

Almost every small-Govt person would see "aid to the helpless" as a function of Gov't however, this notion can be dangerous because as we can see, the more Gov't get involved in peoples daily care, the worse they often do. All one needs do is go to those areas in which gov't aid has been flowing in abundance for generations and note the result. (daytime visit is suggested)

If I were Tzar of Orphan care, I would direct most public monies towards private care institutions as well as remove all financial burden from the process on adopt-family.

I would also invest in a PR campaign to encourage adoption. If we can waste hundreds of millions of dollars on pushing Obama-care, can we not find a few nickels for the orphan among us?

That being said Orphans in this country do remarkably well compared to most of the world, when I have visited them, they seem so happy and normal and I am told by the staff that for the most part they are quite normal though aware they have no mom or dad to provide that frame all children seek.

Extinguishing them is not a civilized solution.

If by that you mean the provision of a safety net that ensures no one is left in abject poverty and you see that as people doing worse than in countries where no such safety net exists. How could you possibly be more wrong?
