i-134 affidavit of support - duration of employment?

So my fiance's income covers the required limit, but not by too much. However, it's only because he got a new job a little under 6 months ago. We also both have savings (his + mine + some bonds he has) for over 8000$. His job is permanent.

The question is : should we get a co-sponsor or would this be too much trouble for no reason?

Just another detail : his position isn't salaried, it's an hourly rate position with a 40hr week.

In my case all I used was an emplyment letter for a job i had just started. so it doesn't matter if its a new job.I have seen cases where people get approved with just a job contract that showed they would be earning enough money. i chose to use a cosponsor that earned well over what is required just to be safe. if you think it is too close, then go through the trouble of getting the cosponsor. I know I felt much better going into the interview.

I am wondering the same thing...but when doing a co-sponsor...do you need to fill out a different form other than the i-134?
