You're going to be fine! Remember that these worst-case scenarios are all more likely to happen to your car (except the falling from the air one, I suppose). You're going to be very safe and try to sleep! I hope you get one of those flights with personal video screens; that helps quite a bit.

Yeah they have the screens in the back of the seats. That's cool once I calm down. Before I calm though it's useless. I actually took a stress ball on my last flight and that helped a bit. Couldn't take a sedative for that one since I had to drive once I landed and it was only an hour long. I kept eying the flight attendent to see if she looked nervous. I figured if she's ok then I'll be ok. Unless she just has nothing to live for and could give a rat's azz. lol

Bring a picture of your sweetie and visualize the good things about why you are on that plane in the first place. :luv:

as long as you dont fly china airlines, then you will be fine. It took them about 30 minutes and 5 presses of the call button to get a damm Pepsi. Argh

Oh no, no Pepsi for 30 minutes? Yikes! :o

If I get nervous I just visualize having sex with a flight attendant and that calms me down right away.

That might help. Heck I'll try anything. Funny thing is that when I fly with my kids I'm almost perfectly fine. Something about having to reassure them that all is well takes the pressure off of me. Like, if I sat next to someone intensely afraid of flying and I spent the whole time reassuring them, instead of telling them about the whole nose diving into the atlantic scenario, I'd probably do ok.

There's a site my boss sent me where you can make a will for free. I"ll post the link tomorrow. It's only free in certain situations though. I think the more complicated the situation the more expensive it is. My ex called me today and asked who I'm appointing to pull the plug.........I said I don't know but it sure as hell won't be him. lol

Awww you will be fine  You are so cute tho with your concerns ;) When i fly i usually read, or listen to music, writing in a journal about all the things you want to do when you arrive can help too. I agree with mybackpages about the crying, screaming and kicking the back of your seat kids!!!!!! The one flight i was on to london the kid in front of me cried for 5 hours  Have a safe journey and enjoy your holiday with your sweetie (F)

It goes without saying but 30 minutes is unnacceptable.

But for a worst case scenario.

Your sitting comfortably in the window seat, reading the most current Entertainment Weekly, when suddenly you notice fuel pouring out of engine 3. Then before you can even gasp.. boom... the entire engine explodes, shearing off the wing, and tearing through the fuselage. Your Entertainment Weekly is ripped from your hands. And you are ripped from your seat. As you are being sucked through the huge tear in the side of the plane, the shredded rubble of whats left of the wing cuts your body clean in half. Then you begin a 39000 ft descent into downtown Trenton New Jersey. You are still consious up until your face meets the asphalt.

Thats your worst case scenario

What would really be aweful is if it were in like October and my beloved Red Sox were in the playoffs with the Yankees and it was the last game, tied score extra innings and Ortiz was up to bat and WHAM.....the plane starts going down AND the electricity blows Fox Sports off the screen.

Matt85,

How do you spell buzz-kill? Well, that would be the above!!!

I fly business class, unless I get fcuked out of the deal. In that zone, free premium drinks and food, and no worries!!!!!

For those that don't drink, study up on something!

I'd be grateful if I *never* got a Pepsi..... now Coke would be another matter entirely... ;):)

I too HATE hate hate the long-haul flights. I've been on many one or two hour flights, but I'm not at all comfortable being on a plane for 8plus hours. I've never been a big fan of flying at all, but the shorter ones just seem like..you're up, not in the air long, and you're down. TransAtlantic is like...omgggggggggg SIX more hours of this tension??? I tried depriving myself of sleep, but it never works for me...I can never relax enough to go to sleep even on no sleep the night before. I think it will be valium or something next flight...don't care if I'm barely coherent when I get there for the first day or so... M.
