What's the best way to end a marriage?

After a week of marriage all we seem to do is fight over jealousy issues and perceived wrongs.

Clearly there is no fault to throw out but clearly too, this will not work.

Any suggestions on the easiest and least painful method that is fair to both parties to end the relationship?

You're ready to throw in the towel after only one week?? Go see a pastor or counselor. If you don't many will suspect that the beneficiary just did this to get a green card...

Really sorry for you...

Hmm. Is your fiance initiating the arguments? Why is there jealousy...you are jealous of her or she of you? I have a bad feeling she is purposefully making rukkus betwixt you two because she was only ever "in it" for the greencard...that is, if you have already filed for it. Is all this arguing really "out of the blue" or has the relationship throughout been hectic? Is she wanting a divorce and then stay in the U.S. or she wants to return to her country? You don't have to answer questions publically...but you should think about them and come up with the answers yourself. If you come to the conclusion that it very likely seems your fiance was in it for the green-card or whatever, then I wouldn't go accusing them. That'll make things worse. But perhaps you should discuss it like adults and maybe ease the suggestion that it might be the case...

I don't like to get involved in these kinds of matters as I feel there is always two sides to the coin and I have yet to hear her side.

But I will say, if you want to do this so it is fair to each of you, then you will need to file the divorce as this will permit her to go back to the Philippines and she will have a "status" that she has been annulled/divorced and this will permit her to marry again. If she files against you, then she will remain "married" in the eyes of the Filipino government and without an annulment she will not be able to remarry again, unless she commits bigamy, by marrying another foreigner.

Good luck.

I believe she would also need to get a Judicial Recognition of Foriegn Divorce.

I'd say give it 6 more months. 1 week isn't NEAR enough time to know if you'll be happy with her making you miserable for the rest of your life.

Did you guys not argue before? Did you not know that Pinays are among the world's most jealous women (hate to generalize, but I can count on one hand the number of not-jealous Pinays I know). Seriously, she arrived 31 days ago. Are you really ready to throw in the towel already? It's not April Fool's day, but...

I wanted to send my wife back the day she arrived. We have been married for over five years. It takes a while to adjust. Just remember, you are the boss. Even when she is telling you what to do, remember, you are the boss.

Yes I would agree with Dave and Hank, you need to give it more time. Marriage is hard work and comprise and you need to adjust to each other as well. Maybe the age difference is a factor as well?
