Getting Email Packet 3

Hello,

I seem to remember reading you once you have the LND case number you can ask for them to email your packet 3.

Is this the case? If so, any ideas who I need to call?

Cheers

The embassy should just send you packet 3 once they have your file from NVC. All packet 3 is a single sheet telling you what to do next, medical and send in whatever forms you need to send.

Packet 3 is not an email, it's a letter that goes to the beneficiary.

You can call DoS for your LND number and then reference the website for instructions (since that's all the letter does).

Hi Everyone,

Just to say this website is so useful, I don't know how we would have filed (DCF, London) without the handy forums and user guides! I am the petitioner (USC), and have lived as a permanent resident with my husband (UKC) just north of London since we married in 2005, now in the process of moving back to my home state of California.

We just received our NOA2 in the post today, with an an approval date of 12 December - faster than I expected!

What I am wondering is how long can I wait before calling to try and get out LND number? From what I understand, this is all we need to book the medical, and we could begin filling out the other online forms ASAP.

It would just be great of we could get the medical scheduled, and I don't want to be waiting for delayed post over the Christmas period if we could make the medical appointment for January, now.

Any advice on how long you should wait before calling to get your LND number?

Thanks very much in advance!

I'd read my guide (see link in my sig - lots of changes in the responses so check out the whole thread) if you have not already.

It may be too soon for you to get you LND, since you only just got approved - they have to process your papers in the other department, which doesn't necessarily happen immediately. But if you want to try, DCF people can also try calling DoS and enquiring.

Lost at sea - your guide is amazing, I have a copy printed out and have been referring to it every step of the way. Have just re-read it, where I notice it does somewhat address this issue...sorry!

I wasn't expecting to be approved so quickly, as I only filed 3 weeks ago...now I just want to get started on the next steps. One last question, does anyone know of you need the LND number to complete the online DS 260? Or is it just needed for the medical?

I don't know for sure about the DS-260, because I didn't complete that form but I'd assume yes, because your LND is your unique reference that ties all your paperwork together. The DS-2001 (now also online) asks for it too. The link for that is in the comments on the guide towards the end. Edited by lost_at_sea
