After 8 weeks of calling NVC and USCIS our status on the USCIS website changed to shipped on the 12th of December. Please when do we start calling NVC now for the case number? Here is the message on the website: Post Decision Activity

On December 12, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

I read CSC is notorious for being slow sent the approved petition to NVC. I've got my case number 2 weeks after approval date. But my petition was processing at TSC though. Just wait an advice from CSC fellow VJers here about when the right time to call NVC.

Actually, whether you call them or not, your fiance still get a letter from NVC containing your case number. But, better to be more pro-active since many people here had some experiences that their case files had been lost somewhere after approval. Good luck!

I got a msg on dec the 4 saying it was shipped to dos and I called them Dec 12 and got case number ,,,so that's like 8days after

Now would be a good time to start calling them since its actually shipped to NVC now but i'd still give it a week or two for it to actually deliver and get sorted with a case number.

Give it 2 weeks then start calling.

.. but since your case was handled by CSC, best wait around 5th to 6th week to call to avoid possible heartaches upon hearing "wait 8 weeks" from our beloved NVC/DOS humans.

I have been trying to edit my timeline and also change it from CSC to TSC can anyone tell me if that can be done? @Dwheels, thanks for the support and the congratulations shout out. Is been a very long wait at USCIS just getting stuck for 8 whole weeks it wasn't funny. God will give us strength to get to the end of this journey. The End will definitely Justify the Means.

I got my case number after ten bussiness after received thar message from tsc.

- top-most right side of the page. Click your name, go to "My Profile"

2. Under your photo, click on Edit my Profile

3. Scroll down to "Immigration Info" section, change "Place benefits filed at" to Texas Service Center. Save changes.

@Dwheels. My police report from the country I have live for more than 3 months is only valid for 3 months and is already counting since Dec. I don't know when I will get an interview date if it expires before I get an interview do you think I will be told to get another one? After paying your visa fee do you know the average time or months to get an interview date in Lagos?

If its a country you use to live in but haven't retirned you will not have to get another. If its present country yes at interview its suggested to bring a new one.

For K1 they are pretty open to appointments since you get to do it. Have no idea what the schedule looks like but shouldn't be longes that a 1 to 2 month wait.
