Hello All,

I am 29 years old and I am from Singapore.

Well, I will be visiting my boyfriend in January 2014, and it will be a 8 weeks stay.

I have previously visited him under the VWP, and I have not encounter anything unpleasant at the POE. But I am pretty concerned this time round, as I have never stayed for 8 weeks. The first visit was back in Oct 2012, which I stayed for only a weekend. The Second visit was in Jan 2013, which I stayed for 2 weeks. And the last visit was in August this year, also for another 2 weeks.

I have read some scary experiences on this forum about bad experiences they have encountered (people who visited the states for more than a month), and I am wondering if you could share some advice with me.

I have a full time job in SIngapore, been in the company for 4 years, and I am currently working as a senior retail executive. My boss has approved my Leave of Absence, and is willing to help me prepare a letter for my travel to proof that I will be returning back to work in early May.

Do I have to provide any other documents? I will be bringing about $1500USD,together with my credit & debit card. And of course I will be bringing along my return air tickets.

My boyfriend & I are definitely not intending to get married any time soon, as he is currently pursuing his studies, and we have only started dating seriously early this year.

Thanks a lot! I am a worry-bug I know!

I flew from Singapore on my last visit in August 2012 for 6 months and did not encounter any issue during my trip but I was on B2 visa. Not sure if you can maximize your stay on VWP since you have made a couple of trips there within a year.

The only thing that is off is that you say you're staying for only 8 weeks, that would mean you would return home in March, yet the letter from your employer says you will return to work in May.

Sorry! That was a typo. I meant I will be returning in March, not May =)

On VWP chances are you will be given the usual 90-day stay, so you should be OK. However, that is entirely up to the discretion of the CPB officer at the POE so my suggestion is that you make sure your airline ticket can be changed in case you are not given all the time you want. You really can't know until you arrive in the US.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your advice, I will definitely keep that in mind =)

Nothing here seems out of the ordinary. You should be fine.

Thank you so much =) I am just worried for this upcoming trip, as I have never stayed in a country for so long.

Hi, thank you for your reply =)

How many times have you visited the States under the B2 visa? And how long were your stays then? Sorry for asking so many questions.
