Here's to New Years wishes.

I wish everyone finds their own home, and find their own independence.

Aw, that's a good New Year's wish! :) it's what I want, anyway.

Part8 wins a dollar.....

Ironically, that movie didn't do well in the box office.

Any Stephen King fans here?

Trivia....what's do all Stephen king novels have in common?

Someone must die in each one, but I doubt that's it. What's the answer?

I need a place I can truly call our own. An apartment complex just isn't it, despite the pictures and our flags on the walls. I also need a degree of my own independence with my own car.

I say go purchase an old pickup truck,

and go scouting for an abandoned property (acreage, house, barn) and file a writ of possession with the county court, then fix it up, and wait for the owner to return.

lol...hey, I have been living away since I was 15...all over the place and cannot seem to find my own....maybe I am one of the people that will never be able to stay in one place...even when i lived in Switzerland I moved to a new apartment 8x in 12 years.

I hope you're able to find your place soon.

This is so me. I get so bored after living in one place for too long. I need constant change insofar as surroundings. I can't even really explain it. After leaving home at 18 I've constantly been on the move. Even now I'm itching to go somewhere else.

I get settled pretty easy enough in a "home" but the rest of the city or what ever is a bit longer. I'm too much of a chicken to want to move a lot. Well it could of been from having kids early too I didn't want to move them around much either. You two a brave and adventurist. I feel like a stick in the mud most of the time. Moving to Arkansas was the scariest thing I ever did, and boy was it rough on me, the first jumping spider that came at me made my cry and I was ready to leave. I hate these bugs.

I need a place I can truly call our own. An apartment complex just isn't it, despite the pictures and our flags on the walls. I also need a degree of my own independence with my own car.

We were lucky as my Husband had a house before we moved here. I an apartment with my kids 4 at the time would of been a nightmare. Having our own place was very helpful. I don't like driving so my own car isn't needed, I just take him to work the days I do need it.

Happy New Years Everyone!

Hubs doesn't want to fix anything up. He's not exactly a handyman. He can solder electronic connections on a motherboard but really isn't good at anything else, that I've seen. That is why this Jeep fixing has taken until today to be finalized when we started it on Saturday and it should have been an afternoon job. I've missed work for 3 days.... it's also why my jeep looks like this on the outside and on the inside, the part around the shifter, and the shifter knob itsself is broken. He wants to do something and does it half a$$ed like a typical man from Alabama. I wish he'd never started working on the GD thing. Who puts 35" tires on without a lift? You put the lift on, then the tires.... sigh.... I want my own friggin car (or jeep or something reliable that isn't cold like a scooter!) /endrant

And I want something good on gas that I'm not spending money on fixing... I don't mind even if it's old, as long as nothing is broke or in immediate need of fixing. Some cosmetic damage is okay. I sold my 2004 sebring lxi with brand new goodyear nordic winter tires and a full set of goodyear tripletred with about 100k left on the warranty of the tires, and the only thing it was going to need in the spring was brakes and maybe a thermometer, with a little crunch on the front for $1600. I'm looking at about 2kish for something smaller with nothing needing to be fixed.

Whatever it is that things end up looking worse than when he got a hold of them. A southern handyman? Red Green? I dunno.
