Just goes to show there's big differences between what people consider a race though. To them, you were not black enough to be one of them, you had too much white in you. Turn that around and in the USA our president is half white and people refer to him as black. I personally have never been able to look at him without seeing both.

Actually two things are what gets to my wife, we work too hard here (not having enough fun during work, plus too few holidays) and the second not having her family here. But it might also be true she always feels like she's different due to her race being different.

Its a real shame that some blacks will put down and shame another black because they don't speak like they're living in the ghetto. How you speak has a huge affect on where you can go in life. Speak low, stay low. Speak high and you'll move high.

These things bug my hubby, too. Ecuadorians notoriously celebrate absolutely everything - every city's independence, every city's patron saint, various different battle anniversaries, plus religious holidays... the list goes on. Plus, there are very few latinos in this area, but I think he secretly likes that. Plus, it makes him practice his English.

lol...hey, I have been living away since I was 15...all over the place and cannot seem to find my own....maybe I am one of the people that will never be able to stay in one place...even when i lived in Switzerland I moved to a new apartment 8x in 12 years.

Not giving up just yet though....job will help me feel like a human being.

This is so me. I get so bored after living in one place for too long. I need constant change insofar as surroundings. I can't even really explain it. After leaving home at 18 I've constantly been on the move. Even now I'm itching to go somewhere else.

I need a place I can truly call our own. An apartment complex just isn't it, despite the pictures and our flags on the walls. I also need a degree of my own independence with my own car.
