I'm sorry it's been a rough day, I hope it gets better for you soon. I think I had those days for about the first 3 yrs we were here.

All things experienced while living with the in-laws. Though I don't recall my BILs stealing my panties, or hubby having drunk friends. But the rest, yes.

Though I've come to realize living with my own family isn't much better. They're just annoying and stressful in other ways. laughing.gif

Yah whats worse, your BIL stealing your panties or your own brother stealing your panties?

To actually advance in my career choice I need a college degree in some sort of business classes. I don't think my equine science degree is gonna work out.

Probably not, but it truly impresses the horses down at the barn.

Im happy to know im not alone. I had a talk with hubs too. I feel better now. Thank you all.

Glad you're feeling better. My wife was in a pissy mood yesterday, but she wouldn't say why. I think a bout of homesickness she didn't want to admit. Or maybe because her family didn't call her at Christmas. Told her she could call, but I think she wanted them to call her.

take her on a trip. May be a few days in the tropics. That's always a mood elevator.

the conversation is not done. It's a rant. So go nuts.

But you've gotta give it more than 3 months?

One has to wonder how many years a person actually has to give it to get over the change. Sometimes I don't think my wife will ever totally get over moving to the USA. You'd think a person from a third world country would be ecstatic to move to a first world country, but its often not the case.

many factors are involved.

Tiffany- she came to see America when she was 18. NYC. Surrounded by her family, and her enclave. Met a nice guy friend (me). Found a job. So for her, it was easy. So easy, that the next time she returned to Malaysia, would be 12 years later.

Juna- marries a nice guy (look like a leather jacket, but nice) Moves to MN, surrounded by people from her enclave, don't have to worry about making a living, Has house and home. So, that's good too.

Example- girl from Tibet, doesn't speak the language, marries to Arizona, different climate, different people, no fellow countrymen, no friends, no relatives.....That's hard to get used to.......

Juna marries nice guy, he looks like a leather jacket though, discovers fresh fruits and fresh fish are not available in Minnesota. All fish is frozen, all fruit is picked unripe and stored. Winter comes, my god how can it get so cold? Back home puts on a jacket when it turned 80 degrees! No family, friends from enclave are nice, but they're not family. Culture is too different here, people are not as fun, so serious, so work work work, not fun and smiles and eating all day. Misses the lazy fun culture of home, misses the lack of privacy as your neighbors are right in your window saying Hi, what's for dinner? etc etc... chikka chikka all day long doesn't happen here.

Actually she gets a bit better all the time, but I don't think the desire to be back home in the Philippines will ever go totally away for her.

Time to move to Panama...

Singapore apparently scored one of the lowest on that list. I dunno, I'm pretty happy...lots of times I wish J would consider moving here (SG) instead.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!
