You're like the Jewish man who keeps asking God to help him win the lottery jackpot.....

after 20 years of asking, he resented God because he never won. Then one day he asked God again in prayer, and a bolt of lightening struck in front of him. A deep voice from the sky said ...."Moishe.....meet me half way, go BUY a lottery ticket....."

Now......whadaya want me to bid on???

you got 2 inches of snow? ohmy.png

And seriously, why are they having early dismissal over 2 inches of snow?

Where the heck are you living that 2 inches of snow shuts things down?

I remember being in Tennessee at a factor that was having some problems. I arrived in the morning everybody was leaving early and they were getting ready to shut down. The problem was about 1/2 inch of snow. I had to return the next day to fix their machine, because everyone was afraid of the snow. I watched those southerners driving in that stuff, as I headed back to my hotel. Everyone was either unable to get moving, in the ditch when they couldn't turn, or unable to stop at a light or stop sign. Made me understand why they shut down, since no one on the road knew how to drive in even 1/2 inch of snow.

Turns out there was nothing wrong with the machine, some good old boy placed a wrench on top of a metal detecting sensor. rofl.gif

Southern Connecticut. The water kind of keeps things warm enough that winter here is pretty warm. I still haven't needed a coat yet. Unfortunately the north end of town (about 15 minutes northward) is very rural and not warmed by the ocean. So if the conditions up there are poor, they most close down all schools in the district, despite the fact that only 1/5 are up there and none of my daughter's classmates lives more than 3/4 mile from the ocean!

Hey, I prayed and prayed for a perfect partner and was promised I'd meet one that November. Bam! Met the Dane.

Actually, or way of thinking about the gods and divination is rather complex, but I have always been a big fan of the "Elohim" concept of god in Judaism.

We've done enough work though, I think. We practically renovated the whole house and stuff. ;)

Whatever, I've been a good girl and this is the very least Santa could do for me.

I think it is pretty cool our item is in with some of that other way more interesting stuff.

The Dane bought a lotto ticket, but I believe it is more likely to get struck by a meteorite than win?

You bet it would. I'll trade you this desk for that eight bedroom, ten bath house on 10 sandy ocean beach acres.

Steve, I cry - I had a collection of 4,

3 from 1894..98 and one from 1903

They were all damaged in a flood, and no one told me.

Oh, most of Texas, save for Wichita Falls, Amarillo, Abilene or Lubbock, where they actually have the right gear and the crews are trained to use it.

Is there any collectors value to these?

Yup. I had em appraised prior to putting in storage, as they were my nestegg for my backup plan if things not work out at the Academy.

ONE would have put me through a Texas State School for 2 semesters.
