Steve apparently has diverse taste in women.

Really? Many American women I've known take big personal offense when someone doesn't agree with them on an issue. Many Americans period seem to take personal offense when you don't agree with them.

I meant the whole situation. The "Americanas" at least the ones I know have very strict ideas of how men should behave and provide.

i like the blue....quite a bit...but it doesnt look too blue more like blue black, which is quite nice. I don't like the blond either content.gif I had that red...was bright I gotta say. Just got a job at the library and when I was being introduced the guy said " well, I guess we won't forget you will we now" no0pb.gif

so i am going all out on pics (dont laugh) first that haircut i had before which I liked and my hair now...its all rather dull. Definitely needs spicing up. We should go together...you get your blue and I get red like the one Steve posted. biggrin.png

I will make it for ya biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

and that actress (always forget her name) is hot...if i was a lesbian...I'd hit it (that's what guys say no ? except for the lesbian part)

I've had some incarnations of red, I think there is a photo of my hair in the color steve posted somewhere. Problem was for me, that it faded fast and required bleach + red dye. Also, every time I went to the salon it came out a different color. I told the hairdresser anything but what we call "white trash red" here, and bam...I ended up with white trash red that day, needless to say I never went back and promptly dyed my hair brown over it.

I like your old haircut, it works with your face. I think your hair might have to be thicker to go with that original inspiration photo. Shoulder length hair is kind of hard to deal with in terms of styling, imo.

Telling my wife she's getting fat, is actually one thing I'm allowed to say.

The Dane actually told me last week he liked me skinnier - promptly got to eating healthier and exercising. He's not one to mince words, I guess. Now, telling me I look "fat" as I am about to leave the house would probably result in me not leaving, though.

kind of looks like the one i picked...kind of ....?

Sorry if the pic is too big....

nvm it is not

That hair be too short. I have a picture of my wife as a teenager when her hair was cut too short. Whenever she talks cutting her hair, I pull out that picture and she changes her mind. I love her hair down to her butt.

I've thought about going back to my super duper red or blue at some point, but I'm a little worried at my age that it might be inappropriate.

Go ahead and do it, they'll just assume you're senile now.

For the love of God what part of Approved do people not get. Good grief. headbonk.gif

Good morning my peeps. How are your fine arses today!!

I believe its the start, middle and the end they don't believe.

Good Morning

I know it will still be a pain to style it but i am trying to find a look that makes me more professional less owl liking animal loving uhmm..something...dumb ### ? :D

I told my wife I liked her naked. I had hoped she'd take the hint, but I guess she thinks I mince my words.

I am not sure I quite understood the whole convo about this but in my mind (to chime in) in a relationship both people should be responsible and equally participate. I would not want a man to work and me using the money he sweated his butt off making ....on a shampoo or a new skirt and that was what I had always told my husband. I don't think it is fair and if i was the man i would not like it at all. I dont think it is right.

Now, I also said that this works both ways - I do not think it is fair for a man to sit on his butt whole day or work minimum possible while expecting the wife to bring in the money, clean, cook, get him a car or better yet get a license and drive him around while he is playing a new game he just found online and complains that i did not cut his fingernails for a week or brushed his hair recently. Oh and eventually have kids possibly 3 and 2 dogs.

There has to be a balance in everything. I am perfectly happy contributing, when I do have a job, even more than he does simply because I understand his job pays him a little over 1k after taxes and it is not much to work with but....

oh hey that was a rant. Sorry....needed to vent apparently. Carry on....

Raspberry cakes ! Let's talk cakes...can I bake you all cakes...I have a need to cook.

There's nothing wrong with equal, at all. :)

I refer you to the following article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2487879/Women-work-harder-men-especially-Italy-11-hours-week.html

The country with the least disparity in work hours is Denmark, in which women only work 3 more hours a week than men.

Totally a tangent here:

I do feel like in America if a woman is working she is also expected to still do more housework generally. The Dane is actually at work today too, but when he is around, each additional 4 hours he is in the house equated to an extra 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour of housework for me. ranting33va.gif This morning, he leaves his half eaten breakfast on the table, clementine peels in the living room, clothes strewn about the floor, stuff on the kitchen counters, old receipts on the dresser. And that is in one hour of being awake! How?!!?!?!

I don't know how he is going to handle me doing 16 hours of school work again in less than a month. devil.gif No time to be house slave then....

It actually started as a conversation about taking personal offense over an opinion that differs.

As to the work and money issue, I think thats all up to what the couple is comfortable with. When my wife got here, I gave her a choice, she could work or not. I immediately put her on my accounts and told her what ever I made, was her's as much as mine. She had a rather hard time with that concept at first, but it has grown on her over time. Also she has worked since she was a kid, selling brooms door to door was her first job. Not only did she not want to be a stay at home spouse, she was going crazy because she wasn't working. Not having a job is like one of her biggest fears, after snakes that is.

I would have been happy either way. I actually loved that time period when she was in the house and not working. I'd run home for lunch every day and she'd have it ready. Occasionally I'd pick her up, we'd eat lunch out and I'd leave her at the mall. I actually miss those days on occasion, but I also know she's much happier working, and feeling she's contributing. She only makes a fraction of what I do and she worries about that at times. Asking me if I don't want a wife that makes more money. I guess the entire option of she could work or not, never really sank in.

i agree with you. It is up to the couple how they handle it. I do like your approach in saying whats mine is yours. It is not like that with us because I would find it very difficult myself. I have to contribute as much as your wife does and would not be happy just doing "nothing" apart from housework/cooking (but thats not work since I like to clean and cook to relax lol). I suppose it is a matter of not understanding how someone could just be fine with it. I guess in that way I am mad at my husband for taking it for granted and a given. It probably would not bother me if other things were fine. oh well, we shall see :)

I think my wife expected me to be like the Dane. Her first hint it wouldn't be that way was when she arrived and didn't need to clean the house. She was actually surprised I kept such a clean place. When she was at home all day, she made it her job to do all the house work. I quickly found that pushing the vacuum cleaner around wasn't so easy for her, so I took that over. I also jumped in and did all the dishes, as I'm a bit OCD about how a dishwasher should be loaded. Those were her second hints. I've got a rule in my house that my kids, when they're over, were required to follow. Use a dish, you return it to the kitchen, throw any extra and rinse it. I'd do the rest. Now kids being kids often slipped up on this, but for the most part it worked. Its also a rule I make myself follow. Never are dirty clothes left lying around, there are baskets for laundry, separated by whites and color. They go there of someone is going to hear about it. Once my wife started working, all the housework was split. There are times I do more, there are times she does, but over all its pretty equal. I do have to say its more work on me with my wife here, she generates more dirty clothes in a week than I did in a month. She can generate more dirty dishes in single dinner than I used to in a week to. My dishwasher would run about once a week before she arrived, it now runs every day. All that means more work for me. But she also finds things to clean weekly, that I wouldn't visit near as often before. So the place is even cleaner now.

lol my husband does the same. You should have seen the inch thick dust layer on all of his furniture when I got here. He doesnt even wash his covers (and with 3 dogs they get really dirty every week). In a year and a half that i was gone, he washed (his mom that is) them one time. lol I brought this green cover so they have a place to make dirty and take it off at night. I finally got a space in the drawer like 2 weeks ago and that's only cause i made it....for 2 months everything I moved in here with was on the floor :D Oh men ;)

So cool you are going to school !!

As to all the money being both of ours, regardless of who made it, my view is she's my complete and total partner. To me this isn't a 50/50 thing, to me this is a 100 percent thing, each of you give everything you have, you don't split it or count it. Splitting it is separating, counting it is separating, anything but giving all and sharing all is a separating occurrence in the mind. Its a way of viewing things and handling things so neither party feels like the other is getting more or giving more. I don't know if I'm getting my point across here that well, but its my philosophy on how material things are best handled in between a couple. It can remove or reduce the fights and disagreements over money. But both have to be able to see it that way.

Its took quite some time for my wife to get her mind around the concept. But after a couple years she'll notice and mention where friends are having troubles or see where they are going to have troubles because they keep their money apart. Then she's thankful I wouldn't let us do it that way. Because I do have to admit, I forced this method on us. It was my view of what's right, and I had to work hard to get her to agree to it. Had she not been a Filipino, with the traditional values that it was my decision to make, it may never have started. But she is happy with how its worked out in the end.

Nola, u r cute. fyi.

Also, gingers are amazing.

Gingers are the soulless that walk among us!
