1) Huh. That seems to be happening a lot more recently. Posts I asked to be split off into their own thread in the UK forum from the UK guide got Unapproved instead. (Yes, I am an Admin on another Invision board, I know of the Unapprove function )

We actually used to do the same for poor family back in Europe, but at USPS rates, which are definitely pricier.

My wife's family isn't poor. Well Moma is poor, but the siblings are not. They grew up poor, but pulled themselves out of it with education and hard work. I'd guess they might be called middle middle class. But every little bit helps over there and many things are just gifts or special treats. My sister in law actually sends us care packages from the Philippines at her expense. Mainly dried fish, which we both love, Filipino candies, and things like some face cream my wife likes, which we don't have here. We might send more in total value, but scaled to the economies, we'd likely be ahead.

She's tested good actually on blood sugar. But we're also working on switching to brown rice now to, my mother also had diabetes. Brown rice is much slower digesting, and doesn't give the sugar spike white rice does. We tried a while ago, but neither of us could stand the taste of the brown rice we bought. We just found a good tasting brown rice which we both like. But brown rice doesn't really satisfy the rice addiction we both seem to have now. So every other day is white rice, until we get weaned off of it. We still have an almost full 50 lbs sack of it, so we've plenty of time to get used to brown rice.

ick, i can't stomach brown rice. i'd rather go without any rice and substitute with whole wheat noodles/pasta/bread than try to eat brown rice.
