ya, i make teh tarik at home, when I'm feeling frisky. i was surprised the first time, then got really good at it.

It took some time to find the right tea here, but I found it. I do miss shopping at Mustafa's, though.

I can't feed 3 for a week on 43 bucks.

In Ecu, I fed C.'s northern family (11 adults & 1 child) a FULL restaurant lunch for $43, whee man.

you ever had VC coffee? it's really good.

IMO, the best drink you can get at a coffeeshop in Singapore is 'teh tarik' (literally, pulled tea because of the pulling motion the stall-minder uses to cool the blisteringly hot tea). If I drink coffeeshop coffee, I can guarantee that in 15 minutes I'll be looking for a bathroom. That stuff is potent.

okay, seriously, ew lol.

I gotta say. I miss the tea and coffee in Malaysia and HK, they're each unique in their own way

I probably spend about 15 to 20 a day on food for myself. And tiff maybe 10, but she's forever buying lunch for her thuggy coworkers. Food for the house maybe 6-700 a month?

Egad, man -- if we spend more than about $60/week for the casa, it's quite unusual and feels like $Many.

What kind of tea do you use? I've only ever used lipton yellow label tea here in Singers.

Mustafa is awesome. I don't know if it was a Colorado thing but shops closed so early when I visited.

ok - a reach out (and not a reach-around) - I was at my wholesale asian market this weekend, and they gots em cheap. Y'all (all the regulars) want one or two, each? Happy to buy a case and send em round the CONUS. Heck I might even get snarky and include a photo of us inside the package.

Plenty o asian markets here to get one-a-those. I'm too lazy to make my own. VC coffee is never far away here....

yeah well look at all the people I feed......I wanna spend 60 a week too. But no way man.

Today I got an egg and cheese on a roll and a coffee at the gas station...4 bucks. I got a VC sandwich and VC coffee, 10 bucks....dinner for 3, order from authentic Chinese restaurant 30 bucks. voila......

High cost of living here man.
