1. Hubby and I desperately want to move to the DC area. We're definitely city people.

2. Sounds a little dirty. laughing.gif

1. And you'd expect to save money in the DC area?

2. Better than "Diego-Bone," laughing.gif man.

Oh, and finding shoes in Ecuador was impossible.

I was warned of this, and it is true, si and sigh man. In fact, finding men's shoes over 9.5 is difficult or impossible throughout Latin America, scrunch man. I wonder whether there are shoemakers in Ecu, and how much they charge (obviously, in Gringo price, sigh man).

I suck at math.

Because 5 out of 4 people are bad at math, you're at least one of them, A+B=C, man.

I can't sleep, I hurt, feel bloated and feel like I'm going to be sick. 8 more weeks to go

<< hugs >> If I were present, you'd probably be ordering me to retrieve "mangoes -- very hard, and very green."

The Cheap Gringo report

Did not arise at o'dark-thirty for GS activity, given how the workweek had hosed me and considering the iffiness of the GS offerings. Awoke at near-normal time (= still too early); eventually dropped Mini-B. at Grandma's. Took Mrs. T-B. to an ES (estate sale) just on the next block.

Fortunately, it was run by a family member, not by a company. The take: 4 outdoor extension cords (2 with triple outlet taps), 4 rolls of wax paper at least half-full, glassware, 3 stocking-hangers for Christmas, set of 6 cloth placemats; total = $13.50. Next, at another ES, also run by a family: metal pitcher (made in Denmark) and a full roll of contact-paper; total = $2.50 (everything half-price).

Jack in the Box for lunch: 2 spicy chicken sandwiches, monster taco, breakfast combo, and large Co-Coler. With coupons, total = $9.71. We then retrieved Mini-B., and I dropped him & Mrs. T-B. at the casa before again sallying forth. The results:

PetSmart: 2 bags of forest-scented litter on closeout & with $1-off coupons on them (expired, but cashieress made them ring up); a 6-lb. bag of weight-control Whiskas marked down to $4.97 because of pending expiration; the usual 24 cans of glop, .60 ea. with store card; 24 cans of other glop, .80 w/card + coupons for "$2 off 6 cans" that the cashieress rang up 5 times; got all but one coupon back; 2 variety-paks of Meow Mix wet glop on markdown, with $1 coupon for one. Total paid = $43.25 (saved 37%).

Gas the T-B.-jalopy: station turned out to be a penny/gallon cheaper than anywhere else.

Aldi Foods: they readily accepted an expired-last-June $5-off coupon for the other store.

Other supermarket: all items qualified for Mama T-B.'s senior discount, with some marked down without notice.

Duly reported as part of ongoing qualification to remain a Cheap Gringo, $i man. However, we regret to report that we did NOT buy lottery tickets, no and sigh man.

Cats do not request. They demand.
