there is Chinese superstition that moving house during pregnancy is a big No-No.

It is advised to wait until baby is born before moving, especially if baby was conceived at the current home.

We moved 5 weeks before Mini-B. was born, si man. We must not be Chinese, no man.

Man I'm tellin ya, I dunno how those landlord/ tenant guys do it....

Our landlord tenant laws sucks for the landlord. It's all about politics. And NYC's politics is strange and in a class of its own. Largely democratic, but most times with a non democratic mayor. Currently run by an activist. This will be a test for the rest of the nation to see if it works like this. He's going to adjust income inequality. really? The guy pushing the broom should make what I make? The guy sitting at home should receive what I receive?

The politics here is so strange, that no NYC mayor has ever gone on to the national political scene. Teddy Roosevelt tho, was the first NYC police commissioner.

This, and the business stuff, compose some of the reasons why I don't heart Ciudad de Nueva York.

Nesting is fun. When I was pregnant with my second, I went in and started making sure the new baby's room was all set and ready. I had my ex put together her crib and told him he should let them know at work that he will need off because the baby is coming. He, and everyone he worked with thought I was just being hormonal and weird. My daughter came a month early, just a couple days later.

I passed my driver's license test on the second try in novemeber yaay haha, then I passed the third actuarial exam, and shortly after that I got a job offer in DC. I start In one week!

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
