Viet Cong? "How many people are we having for dinner tonight, Dear?" asked the cannibal.

1. A chica-only lunch, sigh man.

2. A chica-only observation, see man.

Or as my husband would say "rabbit" food. He's supportive of my weight loss efforts though. However, he could probably eat 2300-2500 calories and day and still lose weight. ranting33va.gif

HVAC requires plumbing.

Plumbing does not require HVAC

Plumbers here make 6 figures (union plumbers)

Heck NYC sanitation workers make 6 figures....

Everyone in NYC makes bank.

Plumbing is a good business to be in, in CT at least, so is HVAC.

Aaah, so he would really be doing HVAC then, got it.

My youngest boy is trying to figure out if he wants to be a plumber. He has a few different things he's deciding on

Personally, I think it is good to get into a trade.

1. Sur-prahz, Sergeant Carter!

2. Point made, si man.

3. Hmmm, man?

4. The newcomer's description of Ciudad de Nueva York that I heard (years ago, from a new "immigrant" there) is "It really does have the best of everything, and the worst of everything. It's the Big Apple, and like a sink full of dirty dishes." Rather than argue now with an obvious supporter, I'll simply say that if I were ordered to live there, I'd abdicate the U.S. first. Like a prospective marriage, 99.44% of things can feel, look, and be wonderful -- but if there's one fundamental issue on which you cannot compromise, that marriage will end up in trouble or shouldn't occur in the first place. There are many aspects of Ciudad de Nueva York -- in fact, too many to list -- about which I can't compromise.

Let me start here. If anyone hasn't sailed on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, I highly recommend that trip. It's awe inspiring. To place yourself in the shoes of the millions of immigrants that first laid eyes on America in that fashion. An astounding 100+ million Americans can trace their roots (partially or in whole) to Ellis Island, and NYC.

If NYC were a country. It's be ranked # 14 or 15 in GDP, with an army (NYPD) that's the 7th largest on the planet. Just NY City, not the whole state.

The resilience in NYC and New Yorkers is proven throughout history. From when it was New Amsterdam, through colonial times, the revolution, and the wars that follow. After the 9-11 attacks, I witnessed with my own eyes how this city bounced back to it's existence and survival. A city pulled together merely by the common ground that people stood on.

To look at NYC now, and say that this is America, is not so true of a statement. With the world's most diversified cultures, and unique fast paced lifestyles, a high pressure mode of operation, and workers that are among the most productive in the nation, NYC is not only America. It is the world.

With that, there are many drawbacks as well..... that's another post.

Off to continue the "farewell tour" today with a visit down to the extended family in Kent. Fun times.

You know Nola.....lately, the craze is the renewable energy field. There's a boom in Solar system installation. This is work that Tiny may be suitable for. Climbing roofs and such....

But HVAC is and always is busy, as is plumbing. The biggest problem with plumbing is that many contractors and construction companies are doing their own work, and not hiring outside and/ or union plumbers, electricians, carpenters, masons, etc.

HVAC techs don't have that problem right now.

Ontarklar....... heavy equipment operators in NYC make (you got it) 6 figures lol

OK, give Pippa a big wet kiss for me then :) Tell her I miss her.......

You guys have that big home center there....privately owned.....Menards!

That's a good store.

what I wanna know is...common real estate law. I own my airspace. If I shoot down one of these drones, can I keep the prize? smile.png

Menards is great for some things, horrible for others. You have to be careful of what you buy there as they sell some real cheap #######.

And iffen you shoot it down over your neighbors yard, are they going to blame the neighbor and you get the free prize?

When I was 29, I was sleeping on a mattress on the floor, with a piece of sheetrock on 2 buckets as a dining table. When I was 32, I got used to it :) ....no lol when I was doing alright by then.....

Point is.....you 2 are young yet. I hope you pick up some inspiration along the way (Perhaps even from here). I want you to gather your energy, and give it all you've got. And in 10 years, I hope that you guys are living a great happy life. And I hope I'm around to hear about it.

Thanks for the encouragement :) I'm trying!
