I do think obesity is bad, obviously, and I do think it puts a strain on our medical system, just as smoking used to. I think cancer rates have decreased pretty well as a result of the decrease in smoking and earlier screenings.

I've never said it's anything different. What I am saying though is demonizing the obese is not the path to go down. Publicising the effects of obesity a lot more than they are now? Sure. I know for instance my liver's messed up somewhat because of it and it also messes with your hormones.

If he's healthy enough to exercise, he's healthy enough NOT to, see man.

A fine idea in theory, but Mini-B. has always said "Off! Off!" when we've done things like that.

and if i hear one more time just how he cannot wait till i got a job and have money and can buy him things and how everything I owned before we got married is his - I will scream.

Ok half rant over I am done. UGH.

The bolded part bothers me. A Lot.

I know there's an age gap, he's younger and still lives with his parents, but

Collectively there are too many physical problems that he's not choosing to solve to _your_ satisfaction, so I am getting worried about your personal safety and overall mental well-being.

Why doesn't the limo driver do that? Or do you just like to ride in back with her?

believe it or not. I used to have a company driver lol. She became very close friends with me. Tiff hates her :). I mentioned her before. Selena. We're still very close friends.

Ever since she moved, I've not had a driver.

here's the kid and the monster in Tiff's old village. In a.....restaurant?

The problem is it is hard work to get the weight down. Really hard work. Also, everyone knows obesity is bad.

Some food for though - alcohol consumption in the US was half that of what is was after Prohibition than before it.

You'll actually see a lot of morbidly obese people in America on foodstamps. I can guarantee you it is not more expensive to eat healthy (we are on a tight budget and spend less now that I'm watching what I eat). I think things like cutting food stamp benefits for the morbidly obese might be a good incentive, but it will never fly. Or they could make it like WIC and the money has to go towards specific things - a certain amount for milk, peanut butter, beans, veggies, etc.

Exactly. If there was a way to do this - and it would then work - then it should be implemented. Problem is, would the junk food lobby allow it? Unfortunately, I fear not.

So you advocate that people like me are subhuman? Thanks.

That's not what she meant at all bro....

It is becoming more common to do in America anyway. Some workplaces around here are going to charge more for obese employees to get insurance and I know some of them ban smoking by employees within 500 ft of the workplace, etc. Smoking here is like a social death nail, I don't know anyone who does it.

Me, smoker......

nah. I think I will move back to Europe for sure though. I have been somewhat looking into it lately. I wanna go back to Switzerland or Scotland or Germany or Italy or England or France or Sweden or Finland or Holland or something. This way I am at a safe distance from them since there is a lot of issues there but also can take care of them well enough.

Give the NYC metro area a shot before you do.

I've heard of companies that fire people who smoke, or won't hire them. I kind of curious on this new movement to ban people from using the e-cigarette. From what I heard, they're saying how do we know its not bad for you, so lets ban its use everywhere. Now I don't really know if there is any evidence e-smokes are bad like smoking, but the immediate move to ban on an assumption bothers me.

I also was saying to friends years ago when started banning smoking, even in outdoor locations, that food and the overweight would be their next target.

Phillip Morris doesn't have a hand on eCigs, therefore it must be bad...

I can recommend Sweden - very immigrant friendly, pretty, good respect for women, etc.

I recommend NYC....

Lastly......

America, the country founded on Tobacco, Sugar, and Christianity!

Tiff's bath now....

th_IMAG1423_zpsfa8cee85.jpg

Is that bath in your man cave bathroom?

Wanna redo our main bathroom. New tiles, heated floor, and a jacuzzi tub where the present bathtub is. We've never used the bathtub, except to wash dogs. We always use the shower. So redoing the shower is a big thing to. It has no built in shelves at all, except to hold a single bar of soap. The layout of the bathroom is excellent, it just needs everything updated.

Steve, when Gump and SIL move out, hubs and I are moving in. Private driver, fancy bathrooms, etc? I'm in. :P

Nola, I can second the healthy budget eating. I preplan meals every Sunday for the whole week (so I'm not tempted to cheat or eat junk) to watch my macro intake, and we spend a lot less now than we did before. Lots of fruits, veggies, and lean proteins. :) Makes you feel better, too.

Food stamps should be doled out like raitioning tickets redeemable ONLY in government owned (Gubment oaned, in Texas) Commissaries. In those commissaries, should be the necessities to live. No items of excess or luxury.

Now, the mere suggestion of that idea will get any politician chastised as a result.........
