I don't believe in the her's and his was way of managing money for a couple. Yes it needs to be that way in some cases, but to me its much better when its all ours. Spouses should support each other. You're not working yet and running out of money, of course he should buy you things, he's the one making money now. When you're working, no doubt you'll be spending money on him to. Took a while for my wife to get used to that idea to, and she's much more comfortable with it now that she brings money in herself.

As to eating veggies and fruits, go find yourself a big asian grocery. I'm shocked how much we save on fruit and veggies buying from the big asian grocery stores. You'll also find an entire new world worth of fruits and veggies to eat to. Also you don't need to buy a 2 lbs bag of carrots when you only need a few, heck you can buy one carrot if thats all you're going to use.

I honestly would take care of him if i had a job, heck...i bought all the tickets to see him and got him presents when he had no job and got all the christmas gifts for his family and his brother (yah that brother and his kids lol) but because he has no education and doesn't make so much it is a different story when reversed.

As for the fruits and veggies - thanks for the tip but the only place we ever go is Kroger's and i do buy one onion or one carrot and nothing for dinners as is. He stopped complaining about it a week ago since I just couldn't take it anymore and told him to stop talking about and that he will get it back. So now he is fine especially since I will be now cooking for the family. Really though...it is a matter of him not being used to buying anything ever for anyone just chips for himself since his parents took care of him. So now it was a big adjustment and he just had to talk about it to anyone who would liste

They do that in Ecuador, too. Little minimarts and restaurants literally right next to each other. Makes me wonder how the stay in business, let alone make any profit.

I think he had a traumatizing experience as a kid. He has a phobia of horses for the same reason - got kicked in the forehead as a kid.

Now, this is my opinion and all couples work differently, but I don't think you should have to pay him a dime! His money should be considered your money, too, and he shouldn't guilt trip you about buying you something! That's what husbands do.

You're like me. Its always our money. With my ex wife she had different ideas, at first is was her money and our money. Later it became her money and her money that the husband made.

Being married is a learning experience. In time he may mature yet. As to the talking about it, there might be a touch of pride in himself that he is now spending on someone else instead of just himself. Its not easy to suddenly change from a carefree teenage boy to a married adult man.

Being married is a learning experience. In time he may mature yet. As to the talking about it, there might be a touch of pride in himself that he is now spending on someone else instead of just himself. Its not easy to suddenly change from a carefree teenage boy to a married adult man.

well, the house was built so my parents have their friends around and they are living there. of course they thought I will come back from Switzerland eventually and live with them which is why it is so big but as you pointed out...it is in the middle of nowhere. It works for them. Peace and quiet and a dog and some friends around and orchard.

One thing I know is that if it ever came down to selling it I am not sure I could do it just for the emotional connection. Especially since my dad planted a pear tree there and named it after me. The only thing he did that actually meant something or showed feeling. Good pears too

In one of the threads about a Thai woman being smuggled in a suitcase, it quickly began to devolve into them all insulting fat people and treating us like we're not human or like we're beneath everyone else. And frankly between being treated like a frakking idiot and that, I'm just about ready to rip heads off.
