My house is kept at a Luke warm 72, 24/7, year round, and 2 bathrooms have heated floors kept at 80.....

We keep it at 72, the summer I can get away with 76-77 I freeze all summer and winter I'd be happy with 78 all year

it was 64 the entire time so I just took very hot showers (and that is the bedroom, the kitchen etc....I would say 60 or less)...but yah, got a little tired of freezing

Dang 64 my asthma acts up when I sleep if the temps get lower then 70. But I'm truly allergic to the cold, i break out in hives until I'm warmed back up. I'm told that it drops my blood pressure very low and I need to be careful.

Yes Doctor. Funny haven't had wine in a few days trying to lose some weight (lost 3 lbs so far since monday) and guess what.

(drum roll). Debbie finally after 5 years of contract work landed a permanent position. OMG with benefits. When the HR lady was rattling off all the benefits and said Vision and dental I swear tears came down.

Just think vacation, 401K stuff regular folk get to do. I am over the moon happy.

Does TB or Mrs-TB read? Seeing my parents read is what encouraged me. My kids seeing me read is what encouraged them to be readers. Maybe someone convinced him reading wasn't macho? So picking up a book and announcing to no one in particular "I'm gonna read the crapola out of this book" and having Mrs-TB act so impressed would change his attitude? Anyhow who can figure out kids, they're one step away from being as confusing as women.

We used to, but Mini-B. became a handful and that was that, no read man.

The turning point seemed to come when, after weeks of reading him "Green Eggs & Ham" multiple times daily, Mrs. T-B. found a video of it. Mini-B. watched it once, and that was all for GE&H and all other books.

Slight breakthrough this eve, si man: Mini-B. was very interactive with me, so I buttered him up, and when he suggested yet another activity, I said, "Let's read a book first! Oh, boy!" He didn't object, so I found a worthless Thomas book, then one without words that he liked when he was very little. He then grabbed the Boggle Jr. game (which he hadn't touched in many moons) and wanted to play it. For the few minutes that it held his interest, he was surprisingly in command of it. He then wanted to "clean up" and put everything back in the box with lid on. Mrs. T-B. then came in, and Mini-B. said, "Mommy, play words?" He played for an even shorter time with her (he was getting very tired), but at least the ice slightly cracked, wee man. We'll have to work this back into his routine.

If the tablet computer is now his thing, then get him reading on the tablet. Fewer and fewer people are reading paper books as it is. Get apps that move his reading skills along but are also games. Get Thomas the train books on an ereader app. Turn off the TV, turn off the short attention span apps. A big problem today is not that people can't read, its they can't keep their attention on anything longer than 30 seconds. Note the "you expect me to read all that?" comments when it probably would only take a minute to read it. Can't spare more than 10 seconds on anything is why this country's people have no clue what's really going on any longer.

I'll suggest this to Mrs. T-B. as a priority, si man. Mini-B. has played games like moving letters into the correct order to spell words, but maybe there's more that can be done. Mrs. T-B. just got him a back-of-the-car-headrest video player; perhaps I can get her to not play Thomas and instead play spelling or reading. He'd be a captive audience, so even if he yelled for Thomas, he'd have no choice, no man.

You're too young to remember, but a popular western on TV was "The Big Valley." Richard Long played the oldest Barkley son. Long was a good actor who died very young, in his early 50s if I recall.

I was at the park a few months ago and saw a man weeping bitterly. I went up to try to offer comfort. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"My wife died," he sobbed. "She's the third wife who's died."

"Third wife?" I said. "What did the first wife die of?"

"Eating poison mushrooms," the man said forlornly.

"What did the second wife die of?" I asked.

"Eating poison mushrooms," he said.

"Strange coincidence," I said. "And did your third wife die the same way?"

"No," he sobbed. "She was strangled."

"Strangled?!" I said.

"Yes," he nodded, still sobbing. "She wouldn't eat her mushrooms."
