Hello King of Marklar, I am 100% Chinese.

So I understand the Asian culture of helping family.

But there should also a limit on how much one can do to help out. Some families are just purely leeches, take and take only, no giving back or even simple gratitude.

I should state that once the monster kid is here, there could be more troubles.

e.g, Comparisons between what your precious girl has and what the monster kid doesn't have (living conditions, toys, branded stuff, type of school to go to ..etc)

Jealousy, envy, tiff's guilt to her sister.

Hey, just make sure tiff doesn't secretly betrothed your girl to the monster kid, to keep your fortune within her family

This kid was born to a small apt in manhattan shared by tiff, her sis, Gump, and their aunt, uncle, 2 cousins, and temporarily- my in laws. A year later, tiff moved in with me. So for a year, tiff had a hand in raising (or creating a monster) this child. It took her a while to realize that this is not her son. I have pics of that apt.....I'll dig it up and show you guys.

When he returns. They'll stay here a bit, and look for an apt. Gump, never having an apt of his own in his entire 43 years of existence, will have to learn to support a family.

Tiff, will have to understand that it's different strokes for different folks. No one made her sister marry Gump. She was desperate I guess. Nice girl my SIL. But she didn't marry well. (Neither did my sis).

My kid marrying that kid would be incest. In some cultures, that's fine to keep the money in the family. But not in any of my cultures.

She'll also have to learn to place her own family ahead of her sisters. And sisters kids, etc. with each iPad she hands out, she's depriving her own child.

Well, there's really no need. I don't mind really. But she shouldn't have griped that I bought the iPads to begin with. And why did both iPads go to her family? I'm not a petty person. But Tiff needs to be on par, and bring herself to that level. She's not petty, with HER family......

I think its a Czech culture too ..or that is how I was raised anyways....my brother just left the whole family to fend for themselves while most of the issues stayed with me...taking care of my parents etc. (hard to do from this far away while he lives 5 mins walking distance). BUT the thing is I love them, I know they did the best they could and I could not abandon them no matter how selfish or leechy their behavior may have been at any point in time. It is difficult to set boundaries especially with family. Would they do the same for me should roles be reversed now ? I don't know but it doesn't matter..they are all I have. Is how I see it....aaaand sorry went off.

ps: dog uses me as her couch, she does that quite often.

Actually, I'm not that brand conscious either. Tiff is. I'm just the Levi's jeans and Kirkland Ts kind of guy. The only jewelry I have to my name is a wedding band.

I do have nice (non-garage sale) suits.....well, I need it for work.....

And I'm raising my kid as a modest person who doesn't look down on others. And is always willing to share. And she's doing a great job at being just that. (I'm so proud...)

But now I reward her for that, and she's spoiled again lol

So, hubby has been working mornings lately, and thusly has asked that I wait for him to get home before I go to the gym so we can go together. This would be great except when he gets home he's understandably tired and just wants to relax. I'd rather just get up early and go get it over with, but he keeps insisting he'll go and then doesn't and I end up wasting a whole day doing nothing as a result. Just a tad annoying. He's sleeping as I type this, while we should be done our cardio by now. Urrggh!

The Dane working out with me lasted all of two weeks last year. LOL! I always work out on my own now and I do it regardless of whatever else is going on.

Do this, I need that, do this, do that.....

I'm fing supporting 3 families....

Oh there was a period of time that I didn't speak to him for a year and a half. Left him to fend for himself. Until my step mom had ovarian cancer....

I don't speak to my bio-dad save for a few sentences every 5 years or so. He basically abandoned me for his second wife and sons and one day when I was 4....not a word until I was like 9 and then I get a card telling me I have siblings, umm ok? It took me a long time to get over those abandonment issues.

So. I saved the house. To the point where my BIL can just cover the 2 houses and living expenses, with not a dime to spare.....

Well, I gave it a lot of thought. I coulda have taken over the house. I coulda have let him foreclose. But when you think about it. Compare it to capital punishment.

well, which is worse here? relieved of his liabilities? or make him continue paying?

learning a lesson in the process is secondary.

I left my desk to buy coffee and found a signed letter on my keyboard when I came back, dated 4 Jan 2014, from a volunteer who passed away in March 2013.

Next....I come from a frugal background. I live a modest life. And for the most part, Tiff does too. I don't know if it's because she knows that's what I expect of her or she's accustomed to it from being a Pygmy lol.......
