Rant: Mrs. T-B., who intends to overdose me on rice, again presented dinner featuring rice with not one molecule of any liquid-containing substance absorbed or adherent. I had to splash water on the dinner plate and re-nuke it in order to attain edibility, choke man.

Corpulent cat on lap, purring like motorboat and seeking ministry, miu man. De-dishwarshering to do, sigh man. Big project at work tomorrow (today), boo man. Prep, bed, zzz man.

Edited to add: Duties delayed by company-man activity.

In that case, can I borrow fiddy.....grand? smile.png

Like $5 maybe, maybe. It really was one of the cheapest things that sold.

man am I ever so busy.....non-stop for 2 days........

I'm kinda fed up. Some kinda upper respiratory infection to top..........

hey I didn't win the Mega Millions jackpot.....

Did you guys win?

It is going around, I've had a sore throat off and on now for almost a month. cray5ol.gif No, it isn't the HIV because other people in my family/town had it.

We won $1. goofy.gif

On one of our last trips to Ecu, I insisted that Mrs. T-B. & I take a post-arrival detour into northern Peru. Via a muddy, mountainous, wending route that our hired driver later swore he'd never attempt again for any fee, no man, we reached the extremely bucolic, rustic border, which consisted of bored border guards on both sides and a huge bamboo pole that they lifted by hand to enable egress and ingress between countries.

There was a little group of stores just on the Peru side, and while we were changing money, a chicken and her brood walked in and out, cluck man.

We went to the nearest town of any size (Namballe, if anyone is a research-nut). Gas prices in Peru were so high that the only thing walking on the main street was a turkey. We found that most of the restaurants were closed. Mrs. T-B. finally charmed one place into serving us carne de res. The meat was way tougher than anything that we'd ever eaten before. Upon inquiry, we found that it was burro, bray man!

Apparently, when they run out of cows, chickens, and eggs, they'll eat a burro. "Waiter! Bring me more burro!"

We stayed overnight in a brand-new, otherwise-unoccupied motel between the border and Namballe. We had to leave quite early in the morning because of more rain that threatened our up-mountainside return. Our departure was delayed because the young Peruvian border-guard had gotten drunk overnight and was nearly too hung-over to mark my passport with the Gringo Exit Stamp from his completely dried-up inkpad, sigh man. (Ecus and Peruanos can travel between the two countries merely by showing their passport or National ID card; gringos are treated more suspiciously, see man.)

I'd love to go back to that town during daylight hours and for more time. I bought a nice leather belt in one of the stores, and I told the proprietor, who spoke English, that I planned to wear it to my job in the U.S. (which I did and have done since). He beamed so brightly that I'll never forget it, no man. Unfortunately, our hired driver will never attempt the trip again, no man, nor is even a standard trip to Ecu all that feasible with a 2-year-old in charge of our lives, wee man.

Sounds like an adventure. 2 year olds can certainly travel!

Mrs. T-B.'s hometown has a doctor or two and a "clinic" of sorts. I've told her many times (Asia, >/=3) that we could make an absolute fortune if we could build a real hospital there. Brother D? $teveklar? If this isn't immediately feasible, bear in mind that I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus will do. We take PayPal, $i man.

I can't remember if it was Ecuador or Peru or some such place, but my mother and a group of doctors/dentists here donate equipment to rural clinics and hospitals there and make trips down to do some more advanced worked and training. I think they last sent down a dental xray machine and they wanted to send a mammography unit but were told there was no one qualified to read the films and even if they did, there was no way to get treatment really. Kinda sad. :(

Wife wasn't too happy this morning when getting dressed. She can no longer fit her fat pants for that time of the month. This is made even more discouraging for her, since she just recently purchased upsized fat pants rofl.gif The planned dinner for the evening was to be a treat for her, which your's truly is cooking because of resultant abdominal constrictions of my wife gets at this time. My wife decided this morning she would have no treats and further more wanted no rice with her lunch. Rice makes one fat, according to her. This decision came about when I said we'd need to buy her an inch larger sized pants, the size of which shall remain unsaid as it might offend some ladies. I think it hit her that she has never in her life needed such a size to accommodate the monthly fluctuations of her female form. I'm finding the entire situation rather humorous, as my wife has often noted how overweight Americans are and is now fighting that problem herself.

I, as typical, did not even hit for a dollar in the mega take my bucks lotto.

Good luck on getting a job soon, but I think a Gap sales clerk isn't gonna make you the huge bread winner, you're hoping to be. Maybe apply at Target, and you can get access to millions of credit and debit cards for personal use.

Yeah, I'm thinking that it might be tough this concept of somehow getting tons of money. I think for us, America would be tough without an influx of cash. Part of me is thinking of moving back to Scandinavia. *gasp*

Your wife is tiny tiny. I'm guessing it like an adult size 0 or 2 or something. I too reached said point this month after having thrown out my fat pants 2 years ago. crying.gif Now, I'm working out 2 hours a day especially after seeing "My 600 lb Life". I've made the Dane promise to stop placating me with junk food. protest6wz.gif

Yep. I am stingy - I coupon and even make the Dane take back all of our deposit bottles! devil.gifdevil.gif

Could be that if it were like thrush or something. It seems ok if I drink like 3 liters of water a day, so maybe I'm just dehydrated.

How many tickets did you buy? We only bought 2.

Yes my wife is really tiny, and was a size 00 at one time. I didn't really care for her at that size, I was worried she was getting too thin, although I never admitted that to her then. She usually prefers Levi's that she can buy at a known waist size, getting away from the ambiguity of those other women's sizes. I've known my wife many years, so I've seen her at many different sizes, but she's going where I've never seen her before now. It doesn't matter to me as long as she's happy. And I'm pretty sure it won't change her clothes buying budget. She just might have less new tops and new shoes if we divert resources to replacing all her pants again.

And the ones that weren't are now rofl.gif

You are lucky because I've seen some big Filipinas in America, and I don't mean height wise.

No woman is happy with gaining weight. no0pb.gif
