In fact, I hope it's a cilantro, garlic, and ginger gumbo...

I can guarantee there was cilantro in that soup, if it was Ecuadorian. Soup was my favorite part of our daily three course lunch in Ecuador, but I usually had to deal with copious amounts of cilantro - unless the soup was milk based, in which case I'd sometimes get lucky.

My neighbours gave us three giant jackfruit from their fruit plantation in Malaysia yesterday. Today, there are maggots crawling out of them. They JUMP.

2. I can't figure out this fascination that Ecus have with soup. Mrs. T-B. seems to associate it with weekends and cold weather. Look, esposa: just serve me recognizable items with one-syllable names: Meat. Beans. Spuds. Tuna casserole.

Feed the cow sugar or saccharin beforehand, goodtaste man. Make sure that it's a brown cow so that it will yield chocolate ice cream, slurrppp man. Then, walk the product down here to my house -- it won't melt, <0 degr. C, man.
