You are truly the wisest man in the history of VJ....

I thought you said he was a great guy?

how was your trip, young Marklar?

I dare you to try and find where I would have ever said that.

Trip was boring, mostly.

Nothing fancy pants. Nothing horrible.

Nice seeing the family.

Perfect amount of time with them IMO.

I coulda used another day w/the MIL, but no way was I coming back on NYE

I vaguely remember you saying that he was helping you fix your car, something to that tune....

My step dad couldn't fix a hot wheels car.

My DAD fixes cars.

My STEP-DAD fixes nothing.

In fact he does the opposite.

He destroys everything he touches including relationships.

Because he is insanely patriotic, religious, and stupid.

Changing my mind. I like my cushy office job with occasional crawl around a machine in the shop job.

I once had a gf who's father was a lineman. He got cooked working on a line, and that was the end of him.

These guys are not any electricians....

They are the super-duper shock proof, splice a 40,000V live cable in a foot of water in a manhole in 0 degrees electricians....

Mrs. T-B. rarely burns stuff now that she has her fancy KitchenAid glass cooktop.

Hubby and siblings used to fight over the burnt layer of rice at the bottom of the pan, but blech. It was their favorite thing, and they used to insist I have it until they realized I hate it.

Who needs this, huh man? Guayaquil's weather would be more palatable.

I'm starting to miss Ecu weather with all this cold!

Did you get lucky, and not find a Ecu lass with a rice fetish? OMG ! Score !

Hubby likes rice, but does just fine without it. My BILs, on the other hand, act like they'll shrivel up and die, God forbid a day go by in which they don't eat it.

There are those two aspects to relocating: the initial shock, and the aftershock, quake man.

Sooo true. Though, I have to say, getting used to living back in the USA has been harder, if only because nothing is new or interesting.

Did Señor Part Cuatro throw coins off the front doorstep at midnight, eat 12 grapes, etc.?

Unfortunately we didn't have any grapes, and he'd forgotten to buy yellow underwear. He was also quite miffed to realize we don't have a large sit down meal at midnight.

Oh god i want my own home so bad.

I'm going to go crazy.

Cannot take my step-dad any longer.

I am ashamed at myself for finding it so hilarious when people on here complained about living with parents/in laws.

I see it. I SEE IT.

ITS AWFUL!

It's a terrible existence I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

Yellow underwear is a new one on me, he couldn't make his own?

Here's our Midnight New Years Feast. BTW the corn bread muffins are the first bake goods my wife has ever made. She made this entire meal by herself, except the rice which is in the cooker yet in the back ground. She's delegated rice cooking to me.

For a job that requires only a high school diploma, and many years of experience. This job has gotta be tops tho......
