It doesn't take over a year for them to process a case here in the states, not even when they have to do background checks.

I would contact, contact, contact, until someone listened to me and took action. Contact everyone. ALL THE PEOPLE. Just making E-requests is not enough. (Unfortunately.)

Personally, I think it's ridiculous that we should have to chase them around for information that they should be providing to us any way, but that appears to be the way things are at present. Since your case has been waiting so long, you're going to have to work for it's resolution.

I agree with you *Kaylara*

I agree with you that you need to contact someone until you get an answer.

But yes it can take over a year if the beneficiaries name is stuck in 'endless background checks' especially for people who come from high risk countries like hers (i am not offending anyone here). There is a huge difference on how its done when it comes to background check for someone from Netherlands to someone in Pakistan.

My understanding is intensive background checks is what AP is for. ;) I am basing my response here on the comments from a former adjudicator. None of their comments indicated that it should take over a year to do a background check.

As we don't know who actually said the case was going through a background check and that was the reason for the delays, we can only take that answer with a grain of salt. If it was a Tier 1 center person, we all know how accurate their answers are. :)

Hello VJ members.

I am from Georgia, Europe. My wife is USA citizen from TX. We received first notisfication at Octomber 29, almost 2 months ago. We are waiting our approval, i read much about it and for nebraska from noe1 till noe2 waiting time is 3 month and 2 week. For my case passed 2 month so i am not nervous. I noticed nebraska reviewd and approved gyt from octomber so it is good sign that they will soon start full approval of octomber and fortunatelly i wont be last between you guys smile.png
Just my question is, if someone contacted to Nebraska and got some usefull info about your cases!?

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php -- maybe it will help you guys for knowing timelines.

I am optimistic that i will hear from them next month.

Any idea when the new processing times are coming out ?

They were supposed to be out on Monday. They updated the dashboard information yesterday, and they usually do that at the same time as the processing times. We're having an informal bet whether they're going to wait until right before they go on vacation to update them, or if they're going to say screw it and not update them until next month.

New processing times came out today. They've gone from Feb. 12, 2013 to Feb. 13, 2013. I'm not even optimistic that *I* will hear from them in the next month.
