Will scars from being a teenager hinder fiance in medical exam?

I am a us citizen sponsoring my British Fiance. He however does have scars on his arms; all the way down his arms from a animal attack when he was younger. They are very straight and fine. Will this make trouble at the medical exam? Because I know he has to de-robe. I don't want them thinking it was self-abuse.

The doctors are probably pretty good at knowing if his story and the marks are plausible. Claw or teeth marks are probably different than knife or razor marks and they likely will be able to tell the difference based on location, spacing, randomness, number, etc. If he has a medical record from the attack, a report verifying it would be useful.

Ask your lawyer. They are getting paid to advise you.

People have self-abused and had scars, admitted it, and still been approved by bringing medical info from their doctor. But since he didn't self-abuse, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. And unlike the others with scars, he will have no documentation to bring about depression or self abuse.

He doesnt have any medical history of mental illness or anything problem is they do look like self-abuse scars even though they arent. And one of them is on his shoulder for a different reason; he was trying to make a design on his shoulder with a knife when he was a kid but it wasnt for self abuse reasons... But theres no mental health documentation on him hes got a clean mental record.

If you have medical reports from doctors proving that he is not in depression for the past 10 years.

He will likely need an evaluation from a psychiatric professional stating he is not likely to harm himself again.

And yes, your story has changed. It's usually a good idea to stick with the truth, especially if you want accurate advice.

He can get a letter from his GP stating that this was from years ago and he is no longer a threat to himself or others.

Knightsbridge might accept that, or they may need him to be evaluated by a mental health professional, as I stated above. I guess he'll find out on the day.

Listen, you know this forum isn't out to get you, right?

Everyone here is on the same kind of journey facing the same kinds of issues and genuinely would like everyone who comes on VJ to succeed. You can just be straight with us the first time and we can then help you out the best we can (but we'll accidentally guide you wrong if we don't know the real deal).

There's been loads of people who've successfully passed their interview with a history of depression and/or self-abuse. Get a GP letter explaining what happened and that he's all good now, and you'll be fine. If he never saw a doctor or GP and there's no records, then Knightsbridge may send him for a psychiatric evaluation - assuming he's doing better now, that should clear it all up.
