Hello, just a bit of background:

Im a service member stationed in Europe with a mexican wife and stepson. Sent an email to Naples embassy and they said I can do the process here. In the requested embassy section on the I130 I put Cuidad Juarez just in case. My family is here with me till March and I leave in May to the usa. They said I can expedite as long as I make a request with the I130 package.

Here are my concerns:

On the rome checklist it did not ask for any extra photos, or passports for my family. I gave them the passport style photos but no copies of their passports. Can this bite me in the butt later?

Second huge concern the rome checklist just states make the money orders out to US Embassy Rome. So thats what I did. Was this correct?

Third concern, the address I sent it to was their Italian one and all I put was the address and US embassy rome. Was this correct?

4th concerns, What happens now? When will I hear anything????

US EMbassy Rome? Shouldn't that have been USCIS Naples/Napoli ?

Copies of bio pages of the passports were to be sent.

Maybe I'm confused by Rome vs Naples - if there's a USCIS address in Rome, send it there, otherwise send it to Naples. Regardless, it's got to go to the USCIS address, whichever city (Roma vs Napoli)

I think, if you were looking to have them interview in Napoli (where are DCFd casefiles go for the immigrant visa interview) then you should have had Q22 on the I-130 reflect Napoli and not CDJ Mexico.

Note - there is an immigrant visa doc intake address, and a USCIS I-130 petition intake address. Usually not the same thing. If I have it backwards (USCIS Roma, IV Interview in Napoli) then I apologize.

ya, I've got it backwards - USCIS is in Rome.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I would contact the embassy in Rome to see if they have received your I-130 package and payment. Here is the email: USCIS.Rome@uscis.dhs.gov

Rome does not send out NOA 1 notices, only when they approve (NOA 2) or if they need extra info. They will need the bio page of your wife and stepson. They are usually quick on getting back on emails so you should here from them Tuesday or Wednesday (Monday is holiday).

For the money orders... the US Embassy website says the following so you should be fine:

By a cashier’s check, money order, or international bank draft, made payable in U.S. Dollars to the U.S. Embassy Rome, issued by a U.S. bank or by a U.S. military Post Office facility; or

By a cashier’s check (assegno circolare) in Euros, issued by an Italian bank, made payable to the U.S. Embassy Rome.

Also, for the address did you also add USCIS or just embassy and address? If not, it should still arrive no problem but might take a bit to get to the correct office.
