There is no reason why your family must attend the Interview to start.

7:30 am is a good time to show up with your Appointment Letter.

Can't be any easier than that.

Maybe I should have been a little more specific. My husband is attending my interview with me in Montreal. We are bringing our son as we don't have anyone to watch over him.

As from past exprience in Vancouver I have seen that people line up at times of the day and are let in in groups. I am worried that it will be the same in Montreal and that we will stand in the cold for 3 hours.

I would like to know if it's worth us being there early or if we will be made to wait until my apointment time.

In Montreal everyone is let in at the same time. You do not need to worry about your interview time, just show up early and proceed. As for your son, he will need an interview letter and loomis paper or a US passport to enter.

I should say that Montreal does not adhere to a strict interview time, but rather first come, first serve.

It is first come first serve, though you will spend some time outside in the cold waiting to get through security. They only let one interview (an family) in at a time to go through security and verify your supposed to be there.

You go in one at a time but you do not wait outside for your time. My interview was for 8am and I entered the consulate at 7:30 along with everyone else in line. We all took the same elevator up and received numbers one after another. People did show up later than the first bunch and when I left at 9am(ish) there was a lady being turned away for her bag. There is a large waiting room both downstairs at the bottom of the elevator and upstairs by the desks/windows. There is a child play area in the middle. I was informed by the consulate that my daughter was not allowed to be at the interview unless she had an interview, so there went the week trip my mom was willing to pay for, for just the two of us. sad.png
