Hi,

I wanted to know if you're suppose to bring the package picked up from Loomis as it is i.e, without opening it? or there's another sealed envelope inside the package that I am not suppose to open?

Also I wanted to know which POE to use if I am driving from Toronto Canada.

Thanks for your help.

Weekends tend to be slow on VJ.......You can go through whatever POE you wish.....If you do a search here on VJ, I recall many posting which ones they preferred, and some of those have been very recent, but I don't pay much attention to them,so I can't say off the top of my head

Back in 2004, we picked up our package right from the Consulate, so I can't help you there, but I'm sure others will. I'm sure you wil have to open up the Loomis package as your passport is in it--and the actual DO NOT open package would be separate, but I 100% don't know!

Ensure you have a inventory list of the items your bringing down with you in the car--doesnt have to be anything special, 99% of the time they don't even check the contents of the vehicle

Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

you got a packet from Loomis, but

where is your passport ?

If you not have the passport, well, it's inside the Loomis packet.

Also inside the Loomis packet, should be another sealed envelope, clearly labelled 'do not open' - that's yer visa packet - do not open it..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You will have to open the loomis package because it contains your passport and information on how to pay the new immigrant fee. There will be another envelope inside that says do not open on it.
