Hi All,

I am new to this forum and have few questions. Sorry if I can not respond as I have no internet access easily.

I am married for a year now. We lived together for 3 months abroad. Came recently to US and has been living together now for 5 months. Got CR1 3 month ago.

My husband and his family is abusing me. I work all day, all house work but still every one emotionally abuse me, threat me to go back to my country if I am not happy. My husband physically abuse me four five times and slapped me. I am pregnant now. I am in the wrose situation of my life, getting both emotionally and physically abused and no help. Told few time to doctor office but what can I do. Thought of ending it and started reading on this forum.

To get condition removed, I need to prove bonafide marriage.

I do not have bank account, tax, lease apt etc. I am not allowed to go outside the home and not allowed to meet any one. Basically It is like slave.

The only proof I can have is pregnancy and baby if it went through ok and know onw woman who can write me affidavit. I have pictures and few mails to my name. I have no state ID or Driving license. Want to stay here so I can do job and raise my family. Old parents back home and if I go home, who is going to marry a divorce woman again as it is a Taboo and no jobs back so I can work.

Do you think I can get my condition removed witht he proof of pregnancy, pics and few letter (affidavit), doctor record and mails and pics.

I am not sure above is enough. I have some money saved by my parents and they can send me. One of woman friend is willing to help me too(she is kind).

If I live with my current situation, every day I go through this mental torture and abuse that sometime my brain starts bursting.

The most important thing now is your safety, and in your pregnancy, the green card should be secondary. Do not stay in one single day in one place where you are being abused, your safety comes first. Find a shelter for victims of domestic violence and leave your house asap. Join the thread Vawa part 4.

Filing I-751 waiver based on extreme cruelty is a bit different then filing I-751 as an equal couple, and you still have a chance to have your I-751waiver approved.

Thanks for your reply.

I have no phone. I can only use my husband phone or his mother in their presence.

I use this internet when he goes for shower quickly on his laptop. When I go to doctor, they accompany me, even during the exam in room. So scared. If I go out of the house, I do not know directions and where to go.

They keep an eye on me 24 hours. I guess the only chance is to ask doctor to send me to shelter next time, but so worried when I say this, they will be there. They took all my money and jewelry too(almost equal to 10000usd.

Let see what happen. Thanks again. Can not believe it happens here. Thought it only happen to woman back home.

It seems they are keeping you as a prisoner. Just go the doctor and ask the doctor to call 911 for you and when the cops come ask them to take you to a shelter right away, tell the cops they are keeping you against your will, that is it.

If you want my help help, tell me where you are through private message, and I can ask the cops to go to your house and take you to a shelter. Because you don't have often access to the internet you must give me your address and your full name, your husband name I will contact some human traffic advocates in your State and/or the cops cops, and as soon they get in your house run to them and tell them "take me to a shelter. They are keeping me here against my will!.

I am an attorney, and advocate for victims of domestic violence.

Why do these keep happening?

Because some twisted people think by petitioning someone for a visa, the beneficiary becomes their property once it's granted.

So true. Add in that some are so eager to leave desperate situations in their home countries, they over look all the red flags of the person they're marrying. Add these two together and it's a recipe for abuse.
