Expedited now waiting NVC receipt

No. I live in Manila and had our case expedited after my husband requested. We are now also waiting for the NVC case number. My husband called USCIS earlier to correct the address we have on file (I gave the wrong address on the forms - wrong house number, I have dyscalculia) and he was told that our petition was approved without him asking. The operator said our case was sent to NVC yesterday so I am hoping that we would hear from them by next week but as usual, I am not expecting anything.

hello guys just want to ask, is this only for people living in leyte or bohol? or to the whole philippines? my mother petitioned me as well just 2 days ago. btw we are from mindanao...

It sounds like the whole Philippines from other posts. I was on Bohol and got expedited but I called before the notice. I think you will automatically be expedited by USCIS, not sure about the NVC expediting but they did for me, sent the package straight to MNL.

Took them 3 weeks to register the sent mail at NVC after the Nebraska Service Center mailed it, keep calling. I also had NVC expedite it before I had a case # so the first notice that I had a case # and inquiry # was when I got the expedite approval that they were sending to Manila. Like the answer before this I was living on Bohol and also have a USA passport holding child so not sure if this would apply to Manila residents. Keep calling....

Yeah that's what I plan to do. I'm not too keen on requesting an expedite at NVC since my due date is still April and I still need to file a CRBA so there's still some time. I just hope it won't take 8 or so months.

No. For F2B your PD must be current in order to be given an interview schedule. You are not included in the expedite cases because your category is bound by visa limitations. Sorry.

FYI: USCIS gives the priority date because the PD is the date they received the i-130 filed by your petitioner. NVC is the one who assigns the case numbers.

Yes. Available for IR and K categories (immediate relatives/fiancee of US citizens) and F2A whose PD are current.

Waiting time for F2B Philippines is 10-11 years.

yeah the waiting for f2b is very very long.... my only hope for this is for the supreme court to finally allow aged out children of f4 petition to retain their parents old priority date... keeping my fingers crossed! :-(

I know how you feel. My husband was from F2B too. We continued normally with our life until his PD became current. We had 3 children along the way and they were able to immigrate with him so the 10 year wait was worth it coz all four of them benefited from it.

yeah i really hope the supreme court will finally give in. We have waited 22 long years for my mother's priority date to be current only to find out that we are no longer eligible to emigrate with them because we are no longer a child, if the visa backlog for f4 category reaches to 20-25 years obviously the children will age out even if the child has not born yet during the petition. how very sad. :,-(

To Jeff @ Missy, in the USCIS website, it says there that the burden belongs to the petitioner to prove whether an "expedite" is warranted. May I ask how the USCIS determined the valid grounds in your case? Did they ask for photos of the damage by the typhoon and any other material proof? My mom has a pending I-130 petition and we come from Bohol province which got a double whammie; first the October earthquake and then the November typhoon.

Does the "expedite" work only for those petitions filed prior to these catastrophes or do they work even for those petitions filed after. Thing is, we filed her petition just last 19-Dec. We already received NOA-1 last 23-December.

Hi! Im from Leyte. My husband filed a petition for me last Feb4,2014. We did DCF filing. How do I qualify for the expedited process?

my guess would be that you do not need to be expedited. somebody i know did the DCF about 3 1/2 months ago and has an interview end of february. That is better than a year or so for regular processing. From what I have seen on VJ is that DCF filers last winter were taking about 5 weeks total, now slower. Guy i know who filed DCF was from Bohol so classified same as Leyte I think

your husband lives in the philippines?

I have a friend that did DCF and it only took a month! But they're still in the country because of delays with their CRBA. If it ain't one thing, it's another eh?

Dontcha know...this BI thing is costing me an extra 5 nights in manila, besides the fine for his CRBA/US passport the hotel bill alone is an extra 12,500 peso and the flight i would have taken was 100's of dollars less so BI is about an extra 1000 dollars total, do not need this.

anyways...when did these others file for a DCF? i think everything will slow down at the embassy due to unlimited expedites...imho.
