yet i find it interesting that there are double standards here. one for me, one for the rest. it was sarah that pointed out my photobucket account (which was created by nessa, not me) was public view. i wonder how many shot up with large caliber guns the picture of me that is in this account?

I don't have any screenshots to prove it, but I remember you being quite clear when I confronted you that the yahoo group was public for a period due to the incompetence of its moderators.

I've read some of the more offensive posts in the pasts, but this is the first time I've heard of any "stalking" instances, especially within Yahoo groups. This doesn't have to do with the ME/NA e-mail list-serv that was started after the Debbie whats-her-name incident several months back, does it?

The reason more people might not have spoken up is that they might not have known what was going on. I'm only beginning to piece bits and pieces of the puzzle together now.

I thought that the anti-muslim sentiments from Charles were a thing of the past, and that he had made his peace with everyone and that he came to these forums to maybe get a different point of view about muslims and Islam. Everyone seemed to be pleasant with each other, for the most part, except when VP would come in and disagreements would occur, but I just chalked that up to vast differences of opinion (since most people seemed to disagree with VP anyway). I didn't know that other stuff was going on in the background, and I bet a lot of others didn't either.

No, it's not fair game. Just because someone can do something doesn't mean they should. This is life and people you get to know, and hoepfully have some respect for, not some cutthroat war game that you win by exploiting mistakes and weaknesses.

Ok, so you inform everyone that photobucket and similar services' accounts are public. Then you tell them how one goes about viewing the information. And then you get upset when someone looks at *your* album even though you've already expressed the opinion that as long as it's public, it's not protected.

Why was anyone interested in seeing your account? Well, maybe because of the screenshots of the yahoo group that you had there. Had you not, no one would be interested.

I was supposed to leave around the 12th of January but it looks like the trip might be delayed til as far away as sometime in February or March.

I won't know for sure until Friday if it will be delayed, and then if it will be delayed, I won't know how long for a while yet.

I know many people come to the daily thread because its a light and fun way way to stay connected. It's great to have a MENA connection. It's great when Non-MENA people drop in and chat too.

This is not how Charles sees MENA. He thinks we are amsuing. We provide entertainment to him. He likes to stir things up. He gets a sick pleasure from mocking all of us. As long as Charles continues to post here in MENA, these flare ups will continue. People have been hurt by his words and actions. If Charles had any respect for us, he would realize his sense of humor and forum behavior are not appreciated here and would leave us all alone. But I suspect given his behavior he will continue to post inappropriate, thoughtless, insensitive posts. He will dig his heels in and stay around just to prove he is right and nobody can push him around.

You sought out the yahoo group. You had to look for it. You made the unprompted decision to violate the privacy of every single member in that group. I don't care if it was public or not. You fully knew that it was intended to be private.

When called on it, your response was something like, "It was public. There's no law against it. So sue me." or something to that effect. So people shared the evidence of *your* violation of their privacy. Hardly the same thing. But when you only see black and white, I can see how it might look the same.
