Which is better to have involved in your case congress or senators office as we have congresswoman Dina Titus supposedly helping us but so far has done nothing and does not even answer emails or reply to telephone messages. Last time we had contact with them was in October and it appears to us via there FB page and twitter that her office is more interested in helping out illegal immigrants in there area than legal ones? There is 2 senators for Las Vegas and I think maybe one of them may be more helpful.

They are all equal as far as providing help with USCIS

Each state has two Senators, so if you are in a large state like TX, NY or CA, it may be harder to get the attention of a Senator because they have a huge population to cover. In a state with a small population, they don't have to cover so many people. But your Representative is associated with your local district and is often more attentive to their "piece" of the state. That's the only advantage I see in your Representative over Senator. In Nevada, you may find one of the Senators more responsive to you, so give their offices a call.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm going to call both senators today and explain everything to them and ask if they think they can help in anyway. If they say yes then will have my fiancée fill out the privacy act papers and send them in. We have nothing to lose I feel as Congresswomen Dina Titus office has done absolutely nothing for us.

For California. Feinstein is worthless. Boxer is more proactive with immigration issues. Representatives from the House are hit and miss. If you are living in a district with a large immigrant population, which is most of the state, your chances are better. All representatives have the same budget, because they represent roughly the same number of people, and the representative can spend his money how he or she wants to. Senators have larger budgets in more populous states.

For Nevada, I suppose it wouldn't matter. So, getting both Senators involved could not hurt. Harry Reid is a shyster lawyer from way back. I don't know how much help his office would be.

Irrespective of what one thinks of Harry, a call from a staffer with the Senate leader will hopefully carry some weight. Good luck!

(Moderator hat off)

Thank you for constructing your VJ timeline despite being a brand-new member. It made it easy to determine whether your issue involved USCIS (getting the petition moving) or handling a visa denial at the consular level, because your opening post didn't specify this. Good luck -- let us know how it goes.
