Can I ask when you had the interview ? I had my interview back in Dec 2, but my status has not changed since then. It's still at testing and interview. I got the recommended for approval notice and was told to wait to receive my oath letter within 30 days.

I checked my status and it said:

"On December 19, 2013, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

However, I have not received my oath letter yet. I called USCIS and the tier 1 told me I have to wait for 30 days. I need the letter so I can apply for a day off from work. What do you guys recommend? How long do you have to wait from the day they updated your online status to receive your letter? Thank you for your help.

I would call them back and when you get to the tier 1 tell them that you were on hold with tier 2 and you lost signal. Don't wait on them because they can't give you more then what you see online. Call them and tell them you lost signal with tier 2 and then when tier 2 answer ask them about your oath date you might want to see a kroger or meijer store and ask if they would let you receive faxes on their machine (of course you pay for it) before you call USCIS. The wait usually for tier 2 is around 5 minutes to 2 hours soyou have to be patient and know the fax number before you call them. Good luck.

Silkafi88, great suggestion. I called USCIS and asked them to transfer me to tier 2. He told me I am scheduled on 1/14/14. I explained to that invidividual that I need to have the notice to apply for time off at my work place 2-3 weeks ahead of my oath schedule date. So he told me that usually they don't fax the notice until couple days or 1 week ahead of the oath date. However, he put me on hold and asked his advisor. They made an exception and faxed my notice. Thank you for your help. Have a great day and happy New Year!!!!!!!!

Hi guys, I received a fax of Oath Ceremony notice. On the fax, they only showed the location and time but nothing else. What should I bring to the Oath ceremony? Do I have to fill out form N-445? Is anybody in the same situation like me? Please help. I will have Oath Ceremony at LA convention center.

From what I have seen from these chats the only two things you need for the oath is 1) Green Card and 2) the Oath letter.

it should be in the back or something but if you didn't receive anything by your date then you take that letter and your green card and just tell them that you didn't receive the actual letter. They should tell you what to do in there, it shouldn't be a problem either.

Hello everyone,

Happy post new year,

I had my citizenship interview on december 2nd 2013 in san bernardino, and i passed all the tests as well as the IO recommended me for approval, but ever since my interview date, my status online still stuck on testing and interview plus i have not received any oath letter yet....

I'm very concerned as i see some people got their oath letters but i have not, i dont have any criminal record at all.

please kindly, let me know if anyone here is still waiting for his/her oath.

Thank you so much...

N-445 is eight questions printed on the reverse side of your oath letter to learn if you were naughty or nice since your interview. Longer it takes to get that oath letter, the better the odds of you being naughty.

But some things can't be avoided, like if applying for marriage and your spouse dies in between time, you are screwed. Have to wait another two years, pay all the fees, and go through all this stuff again.
