I know a co-worker who tried. He went from thin and balding to a full head of hair

My ex boyfriend has been using Rogain and something like it for about a year and during that year has started to go bald and it's really noticeable in pictures, which has happened just in the last few months. But he's 23, and probably destined to be bald if he's starting now.

he takes Propecia once a day to block the hormone which causes hair loss

Rogain (sp?) foam to regrow hair

Some kind of special shampoo

Herbal supplements (saw palmetto and a couple of others)

baldness usually comes from the mothers genes..

could be mines thining no doubt but his looks just like his dads and his uncles, other children have another dad and theirs is totally thick different dads

My husband started balding at about 21 yrs of age. He's now 28 and pretty much bald in the front with the exception of a little peach fuzz. I think he's handsome and sexy just the way he is. I actually have nightmares about him with an afro or huge mullet.

When I met D he had been shaving his head for years. Left some big azzed sideys and a few tats and body piercings. He looked like such a bad boy!

You're not bald yet, why would you voluntarily make yourself bald?

There are things that can stop or slow down hair loss - maybe you should just try one of them.

Are you talking about Rogaine? I've read that it only works on baldness in the back...my hairline is receeding.

I had very fine hair when I was growing up,

and started to go bald, when I was mid 30's.

My Mum (God Rest her soul) use to say two things,

to me regarding my retreating hairline...

# 1 " You know it's hard to Grow Grass On Cement"

# 2 " You Just Grew Too Tall For Your Hair"

I have been shaving my head since I turned 35.

I am now 45 and I prefer the shaved look myself,

And my Wife Loves it too

So In My Opinion.. Baldness can be a good thing.

Always have a positive spin on everything in your lives.

That way you will always wake with a smile

You don't think Rogaine was responsible for his going bald?

I read there is a side effect to taking Propecia - impotence...I'd rather be bald if that's my choice.

Steven, it looks pretty good now.

My hubby James has a bit of a recedeing hairline, and I have asked him about wanting to try to "do" something about it, not for me mind you but for himself, if he feels uncomfortable with it but he said he is fine... he's happy! He still looks great to me.

LOL I just read James what I posted here he said "hell I comb my hair back, If I was bothered by it it would look like this"

he then combed his hair forward...../shudder!

well it's obviously subjective - I don't think there's anything "bad" about being bald unless it bothers the person who is bald. And you only quoted half of my post which was specifically referring to toupees and comb-overs, which I personally find MUCH less attractive than someone with the confidence to accept it. (not that there's anything wrong with trying to do something about it either )

Rubbish. Bald is bald. Nothing good or graceful about it.

I'm pretty sure there's a pill you can take once a day to keep your existing

hair and there's also some kind of shampoo or foam to regrow hair.

Hair transplantation is also an option if you do eventually lose it all.
