Hello All,

We received the following e-mail from the embassy asking us to drop off the passport along with a new medical exam. Now my question is that isn't the medical exam good for 1 year.

Our's is only 6 1/2 months old. So why would they be asking for a new medical exam.

Dear IV Applicant:

The administrative processing of your Immigrant Visa is done. In order to complete the processing of your case, we request that you bring the following documents to the Embassy in Kabul as soon as possible:

· PASSPORT(S)

· NEW Medical exam

Faisal were are you getting this information from. Just Last month a person that was in AP for 11 months was given a visa with just 10 days left before his medical was going to expire. The embassy had called him asking if he would be able to fly out before his medical expired and he said yes. So please clarify as to where your getting this new Info from.

If they asked for medical and passport that is good news. They mist know what they're talking about because rules do change. Do your medical as soon as possible cause they will make u wait specially because the holidays. We were asled for medical. passport, and form DS230 2 weeks ago we did the medical 2 days after and that day we got a call to come in for re-interview on Sunday. Sunday everything went well my fiances passport was taken and visa was issued 2 days after now hes just gonna go pick it up tomorrow inshAllah.. so if they asked for that they probably wanna issue it soon iA!

Khal&fai Congrats on getting your visa Issued.. I think that since your medical was over a year old that's why they asked you guys to re-new it. I'm still waiting for the embassy to respond back to us.. since the embassy is closed today my fiance will go there tomorrow with his passport and ask them about the medical if we still haven't heard anything by e-mail from them.. Let's hope that we don't need to do a new medical since that takes a few weeks to get.

myra... do what the embassy asks you to do, trust me you don't want to ask them questions that will delay your case. they go through everything and then ask you to do what they want or what is missing in your case. hence don't waste time as suggested by khal&fai its christmas time and any delay in submitting the documents will further delay your case, just a suggestion...

Myra, they are no longer doing medical checks at the German hospital. There is only one place you can go now, and that is the American one. My fiancé is going on Thursday to get his new medical check. Email the clinic now to get the appointment. They will schedule it for two weeks out. If the embassy tells you that you don't need it then just cancel that medical appointment.
