I believe you'd have to have an interview again if you let the visa expire. An I-130 never expires but your case may be sent back to the USCIS stage if you do end up wanting to move. I'm not exactly sure as it's not something we commonly hear about on the boards.

I don't know what you mean " I'm in troubles with my US spouse sponsor". But if your visa expires and you decide later to come to US you would more than likely start all over. Unless you go to embassy and give a very good reason why you didn't travel in the alotted time.

And it has happened before you are not the first. Some got extensions from embassy because they had things to get done before they left and 6 months was coming but they went to embassy ahead of time its no guarantee. Some had to start all over again.

I wouldn't focus on the immigration I would be focus on your marriage.

Sometimes the problems can be fixed by a lack of distance, and sometimes they can't.

Most of what my husband and I used to argue about was because there was distance. We couldn't hug each other or just sit together to watch a movie. It's not the same on skype. We still argue about silly little things and the occasional big thing and the communication we developed because of the LDR helps us, but the main thing that made our lives so hard, the distance, isn't our worry anymore (except when he has to travel for work. :( )

I know that even if we argue, we can hug etc afterwards. It's amazing how much touch comes into a relationship and you don't realize it until it's missing.

Amen so so true. So much gets lost in texting and just on phone. Misunderstanding abounds. Well said NLR well said.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Colombia
Timeline

My fiancée and I recently decided to allow her K1 visa to expire because I lost my job during the process and I haven't been able to find work. I didn't want to bring her into a bad situation. I wrote a letter to the Embassy in Colombia and explained the situation. We're going to get married in Colombia in July and apply for a IR/CR1 visa. Like us, you will have to start the process over again. In your situation, it's best for you to concentrate on your marriage before you start another visa process. Good luck to you and your husband.

June 4, 2012 - Kelly and I had our first chats on Skype and Windows Live Messenger.

July 10 - 25, 2012 - We met in person and spent time together during my trip to Barranquilla, Colombia. At the end of the trip we decided to apply for the fiancee visa.

August 1, 2012 - I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancee sent via Fed Ex.

August 3, 2012 - Petition received at the USCIS Lock box in Lewisville, Texas.

August 7, 2012 - Received NOA 1 email and text message. Received the official NOA 1 letter in the mail a few days later. The petition was forwarded to the infamous Vermont Service Center.

March 6, 2012 - Received email from USCIS stating that our visa petition was approved and the NOA 2 letter was sent on March 5th.
