Montreal consulate processing time

Hi there,

I had my immigrant visa interview earlier this week at the Consulate in Montreal. Everything went well except the translation of my birth certificate was not sufficient because it was a copy (which NVC pointed out as being okay when I called to confirm them). However, I was able to get a new original translation and mailed it out to them.

My question is can anyone advise as to how long I can expect the consulate to take to review the document? At the interview they said that was all they needed and would approve the visa once they got it so they asked me to send my passport along with the document. I would really appreciate if any one can provide me with any information or their experience with wait times of document review and approval.

This is the very last step of the process and I have been waiting for far too long to be reunited with my husband which is why this is becoming so frustrating.

Thanks!

Montreal is never quick aboit reviewing things. It can take a week to a month for them. I would use the online form and see whats up.
