We sent our I-130 on the same day (I think) and definitely have the same NOA1 priority date from Nebraska. Perhaps it is with false hopes, but as soon as I hit the post button I'm packing up my things at the office and going home to check the mail.

I know right?? Haha. I think we all knew they "could" do it...but it is interesting to see them actually do it.

Like I said before. It's really quite hilarious and shocking how they can be fast when they want to.

Congrats to you. That is very mixed news for a lot of VJers..especially those who have been waiting for months. My husband will be filing in January so we haven't joined the pool yet. But I have to wonder; why can't USCIS and NVC just process the applications as they come in? Why is it that someone who ask for an expedition of the case, (not singling out you Marie) gets propelled over the backlog. What if all applicants were to get expedited? wouldn't that be great...but then that would again cause a bottle-neck at the expedition que.

It pains my heart when I read the sad stories of families that are separated for months - even years - only to know that those responsible for handling the applications CAN do better.sleep.png

Congratulations on your very quick approval.

My wife is from the Philippines and our approval came Nov.4th 9.5 months after filing

it also took me going to 2 info passes in Atlanta to get my wife approved. I sent in an

expedite request to the NVC because my wife was in the 7.2 earthquake and the typhoon

that they had and my expedite for the NVC was approved so now we are at the embassy

stage. By the time we are finished with the whole process it will be a year since we have

seen each other. If your wife lives in the area where the typhoon and earthquake happened

you can request for and expedite of the NVC stage and if approved they will send your file

directly to the embassy in manila.

Here is where you send your expedite request

nvcexpedite@state.gov

Best of luck on the rest of your journey

Virtuous45,

Are you kidding me? The "reason" some people get expedited is because they deserve it. Marie comes from a place in the Philippines that has been devastated by a super typhoon. Thousands are dead and tens of thousands are homeless. I think Marie deserves a little compassion in her case. It doesn't bother me that she is getting expedited. I hope she gets to be with her husband very soon.

Marie and Curt,

Don't let anyone that is posting this jealous talk upset you. You deserve a break.

God Bless you Marie and Curt. I wish you only the best.

Merry Christmas!!

Oh my goodness....based on what I have read, this does seem like a record! Congratulations to you both. My husband an I just received our NOA1 today (received by USCIS Chicago on 12/5/13). He is Canadian and I am a US citizen living in Pittsburgh. It was sent to Vermont, so praying for a quick transfer and/or quick action. I know they are trying to get current by May 2014, but thats still 5+ months away from now.

The whole process just seems DEPRESSING and HOPELESS, but great things are possible!

All the best as you begin your new lives together.

My fiancée is from Tacloban City, Philippines. The devastation there was unimaginable. I asked for an expedited service also. We have a 12 month old and she is staying with family and friends for now. I am so happy she made it through this ok but she also needs to be safe. Congrats to you for getting your approval so fast and hope the rest goes as smooth. I can only hope we can get the same treatment.
